Indicators...... Whilst moving my bike around I occasionally clip an inicator and bend it, this is bl**dy annoying....when I unscrew indicator to change there are wires running up into intake tubes at front and into rear tray at rear, is it an easy job to change them? Hope all are well....? |
Simple answer..... YES |
indicators only problem with replacing one's at the front is the way that they bolt to the air tubes by using a "lug" most aftermarket stuff only has a threaded end ( as per the rear units) only decent aftermarket ones iv'e ever seen are some DP ones that are black aluminium - but they also have a £80/pair price tag ! - i think i will be sticking to standard for a while  |
Junk the f*ckin ugly buggers and put LEDS in the mirrors, much sleeker! |
MOTRAX!!!!!!! Motrax do an EXACT copy of DP billet indicators for 1/2 the price! KJ |
I have Kellermanns.They are billet,black and very nice.Halogen also.About £50 a pair. |
Rear and front indicators. Rear indi's are Kellermans. ![]() Fronts are on a pic at work and will try and post tomorrow.:sing: |
Here's the front's on my bike (Kellerman Micro 1000's). Rear setup is the same as Old yella's. Only dodgy bit on changing them is the threading of the wires back through the front airtubes. The indicators come off easily enough because you have bullet connectors just under the headlight unit (when your nose cone is off) that simply pull apart letting the cables pull through the airtubes. Easiest wasy to reinstall is to tape some wire or simillar to the loose ends so that you have something to pull back through when you attach the new indicators. Doesn't really apply if you go down the Kellerman route, cos you have to separate the airtube halves to install the indicators in the first place, so cable routing is simple. old yella, so where's the number plate ? Plod told me that size 'was important' |
can\'t you see it? its there right infront of you - LOL! KJ [Edited on 19-5-2003 by KJ] |
indicators those kellerman cators look well trick, where can i get some! when you wire the rears up how does it effect the tail lifting ie seat unit, using the mounting yella has got. :frog: |
Rear mounted indi\'s To mount them to the seat unit is easy, as is the re-routing of the original wires to the front of the seat unit, the difficult bit is creating a quick release wiring connector to allow you to emove the seat as quickly as standard. I have pics at work and I think Guy has some copies? Will try and get time at work today to post em up. Number plate is not fitted in this pic as if you didn't know? Look in the photos section and you will get an idea, you might even see the mirror indicators, just. Still experimenting with the plate mount but nothing sorted yet and am running a DIY mount at moment. It needs to be different me thinks? |
Pics Found em. ![]() Any help needed get in touch :sing: [Edited on 11-6-2003 by Old Yella] |
Skank 996, I got my Kellerman's from the dealer i usee when i took my bike for it's service. had seen Old Yella's setup and then spotted the indicators sitting in my dealer's cabinet whilst I was milling about waiting. If you can't get them locally give Shirlaw's a bell. They're sound fellas and will see you right. Speak to Neil Miller at www.shirlaws.com and tell him Guy Cope sentcha |

You can buy replacement Ducati indicators from Hein Gericke shops for 5.95 - this is an exact replacement (probably made in the same factory!) and includes the bulb too. I had a habit of catching them on the wall at the old house! These are listed in the Gericke catalogue - I think the part number is 22001950 or 22001940 for the lens only (at 1.95 each). Gericke also do a range of mini indicators that would probably be just as cheap and come in a wide range of applications - threaded end, plain end, etc, etc. http://www.hein-gericke.com/ |
