F40, likelyhood of seeing two together at trafic lights. Went over to nettlebed this afternoon to see a friend whilst sun was out. decided to cut through sonning and over the river to avoid major road conjestion. anyway, pulled up to the lights by the narrow bridge, sitting waiting for them to change and what pulls up behind me, a stunning F40. sounded awsome on tickover alone, and then stone me but another behind it. the sound coming from those motors was something else, even moreso in a tiny village street. now friday is not a normal day for car runs etc, so the likelyhood of seeing two stunning F40 together sat behind me, then infront of me again, is very slim to say the least. either two very lucky owners together out on a drive, or one jammy git owning two. One day I suspose. awsome motors from any angle, http://www.ashframe.com/cars/FERRARIF40front3q.jpg |
Hope one of them was not this one!!!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...fromZR8QQfviZ1 |
Have to agree Red, They are worth a fair few quid now a days especially mint examples, absolutely stunning engineering. Maybe we should canvass for most exotic car ever seen out and about??? Mine would have to be a Pagani Zonda Roadster £400,000 give or take a few quid giving the exchange rate. There must only be 10 of these in the UK tops? Last seen pulling out of the Woodgroup (Large Oil services company)Building in Aberdeen (Must be 1 of the directors "Toys") Regards ScottyB |
The only car I've ever lusted over, the F40. Simply awesome. |
Saw one (an F40) up here in Cheshire a few weeks ago. Ferraris, Bentleys, Porsches etc are common as muck in footballer land, but the F40 really caught my eye. Awesome. |
The F40 to me is the ultimate, I've only ever had the pleasure to sit in one. |
awesome to drive once you've got it above about 40mph, bit like the bike in that respect and as long as you only need a forward view its fantastic, had the pleasure of taking one from Bromley to Brighton, absolutely spine tingling and just attacks all the senses in a way other cars can only dream about .... :biaggi: |

Now that is poor. The only decent replica I have seen is an MR2 turbo based F355, I think its the F355, the small Ferrari anyway. Had one on top gear and no one could tell the difference, with the engine off anyway, still I wouldny have one |

very nice motor! I've always hankered after Lamborghini Diablo, closest i'll ever get is a Pirelli :sniff: |
now then, a quick question for all you sharp eyed bods. what is the item of syling on the F40 which is very similar on the 916/996/998 bikes. it serves a very important purpose on both, as well as looking good. The clock is ticking....;);) |
Side vents |
well spotted mate. those vents stlying is so similar between the duke and F40. probably designed by the same person, that know what they are doing.:D |

The F40 has always been the dream car for me, seen a few locally in the last year or maybe its just the same car. My mates boss has one. Theres something about them a certain rawness that the later Ferraris (F50 and Enzo) just dont have. Most exotic I have seen on the road was a Mclaren F1. It was on the road up to Hawes back in 1993 or 1994 or whenever they came out. The same car on the same road was featured the following month in Performance Car magazine and it was John Barker testing it. Awesome but I would still go for the F40 if I had any money. |
Stunning motors...even more so when you consider they are 16 years old !!!!!! Remember a guy round this way having one and he had to have the louvered rear window replaced that covers the engine bay.... A snip at 12 GRAND...:o Nat |

Interesting thread but why does no one mention the F50 or the Enzo, both beautiful machines along with the Fiesta 1.8D:lol: [Edited on 12-9-2005 by rcgbob44] |
