What laws define`s a supercar?

what is the difference in emissions/ noise rules,between a Ford mondeo and a TVR Tuscan?

Why can "Super" car (TVR,Ferrari,Lamboghini) makers get away with noise levels of over 74d, when other manufacturer`s have to play ball and keep below 74d?

If there is a difference in legal exception allowing supercars to be designed and built louder, should`nt those same laws be applied to superbikes?

Common sense, surely :puzzled:

So I`m just wondering if anyone can shed light on what rules Supercar makers have to work by?

I think you will find they all have to comply with the same limits, but just like us when they have got them can change the pipes. When questioned about why they didn't stop cars with loud exhausts reply was 'the pipes are under the car so you can't check them without a noise meter-you can check a bike by looking for the approval numbers' Not that I'm paranoid or anything-but they ARE out to get you!:flame:
