Got my 749S back!

As the title says really! Picked her up on Saturday fully repaired, Termis fitted and a little bit of a paint job. Splashed a few carbon bits on her too, plus an open clutch. Jobs a good 'un!

Trouble is, she was stalling when slowing down all the way home :( The cooler weather seems to really affect her (it did last year) so a full setup is required. She was fine 2 weeks ago though. Call to the dealers tomorrow me thinks.

Hopefully a pic is attached...

swannymere 19-Sep-2005 12:45

:o How looooooooooooooooooooooooong?:o

Twinfan 19-Sep-2005 12:47

It got held up a bit because of problems with my paint job (about 4 weeks), so it took 6 months to get sorted in the end...

swannymere 19-Sep-2005 12:51

:mad::mad::mad:

Mark 19-Sep-2005 14:12

Glad you've got the bike back, been a long haul.

khu996 19-Sep-2005 15:06

:burn:

rob jones 19-Sep-2005 17:35

Looks great.
What rear sets you running ???SATO ????
Has the termi made much of a difference in performance??:sing:

Red Steve 19-Sep-2005 19:21

I'd have a word with the dealer when you take it back.....looks like it's turned a funny colour since they've had it all that time:lol::lol:

KeefyB 19-Sep-2005 19:23

The bike looks great.
The black wheels really set it off.You must be well chuffed.

V2 PETE 19-Sep-2005 22:13

nice 1 dave

looks real good!

and i bet u are really pleased its all over and glad to have her back

has it really been six months ?

Twinfan 19-Sep-2005 22:36

Yep, it really has been six months :o

The rearsets are Migliore.

I won some carbon belt covers on eBay from the same guy I got the air tube covers off. They got lost in the post though, supposedly, and I ended up getting a refund. They're the only thing I would buy now - other than that it's perfect!

The Termi makes the engine spin up much easier. The bike feels more alive, throttle response is quicker and the bike just seems to be reathing so much easier.

galaxy 19-Sep-2005 23:32

That's BEAUTIFUL. I actually really like the yellow, even if it is slower. We can't get yellow 'S's here in the states, nor can we get s bi-posto. Straight up red mono's...not that I'm complaining.

Rattler 19-Sep-2005 23:49

Now that just shouts YELLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Bet you've got yellow leathers too ????? ;)

weeian 20-Sep-2005 00:21

WeyHey, at last m8, good to see your back in business !!!!

Lookin Good !

galaxy 20-Sep-2005 01:35

oh yea, saw a black 749s at the local dealer the other day. It was an '06. Didn't know they were gonna do that.

duck 20-Sep-2005 08:35

i must admit with black wheels it looks tasty. yella' stickers are a nice touch even if they do slow the wheel down:burn:

Twinfan 20-Sep-2005 09:38

No I haven't got yellow leathers! I'm slow enough already!

guest1 20-Sep-2005 09:49

Nice one TF. Looks really good and hopefully the weather'll hold off long enough for you to enjoy it in the dry.

749er 20-Sep-2005 11:46

Looks great TF. Like your rear hugger, very neat. Also whats the story with the wheels, Were they replaced as black or were the painted up black. They look really smart

ride safe

Derek

Twinfan 20-Sep-2005 12:54

They were painted up black at my request, plus I have a Corse stripe on the front mudguard complete with black/yellow Ducati Corse decal (see pic)

TP 20-Sep-2005 13:05

I thought they were going to paint it for you TF?

Wait for it ....... They've only put the undercoat on - badum tish!

Yes, I'm bored.

Twinfan 20-Sep-2005 13:55

Nowt wrong with yella - looks MUCH better on the 749/999 IMHO :D

749er 20-Sep-2005 15:21

there is a reaon all the red ones are called clitoris, yellow is the better colour.

Rick 20-Sep-2005 18:35

NICE BIKE, mine used to look like that before I dropped it :(
I need to get my frame painted amoungst other things, have you seen a yellow bike with a BLACK frame ? Im thinking about getting it done. Anyone have pics ?

Twinfan 20-Sep-2005 20:10

I was going to have a black frame, but it wasn't worth all the questions at resale time. It's pretty obvious the bike has been down the road then isn't it?

GsxrAge 20-Sep-2005 20:31

Looking nice mate for a yellow 749 :o

Glad you have finaly got it back on the road  now when does your riding refresher course start :lol::lol:

Twinfan 20-Sep-2005 22:27
