Southend Italian Festival
 

Again this year I have been asked by Southend Council to put on a display of bikes as part of Southend's Italian Festival.

This event takes place on the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend, which is August 24th.

I welcome the Essex regulars but if you are from another area why not combine it with a ride out and get a few mates together and come and visit Southend.

If you can't give up a whole day then any time you can spare would be appreciated.

Hi all
I see that Southend is advertising this day and included are 'all the classic cars and bikes' and The Ducati sporting club is shown on the ad flyer that I picked up.
It seems to be the Royals shopping center who is promoting this event which is at the end of the high street near the pier/ sea at the top of the hill.
No idea where the car and bike exhibits will be?

It is being organised again by Greenbox Management Solutions Ltd. I have been told we will be by the Royals but awaiting further details. I said we weren't happy with where we were last year. It was a large space but not much passing "traffic" so a lot of people missed us. The rain didn't help.

Looks like this may be a weather disaster chaps, the Pani wont be going out in anything but perfect weather because I'm a tart, will have to wait and see.

Going to dry up this afternoon and hit 27 tomorrow!
Hopefully will stay dry over the weekend...

Well the first didn't happen where I was. lol.

The forecast for Saturday does seem to be getting worse rather then better.
If it's wet then I won't do it. I got wet enough last year.
I will wait until Saturday morning and put a post on here then.

Looks like rain on and off for most of the day!
A lot of people have said they will only turn up if it's dry. I don't think we will therefore get enough people to make this event happen so I am cancelling it.

Thats a real bummer, Colin, the one day of the year we ask for in all this summer is just typical eh? I'm watching the rain come down sideways now. Perhaps we (duke riders) can get together soon somewhere else. Jim.

The whole of Southend seafront is under flood water, or was earlier this evening.
