TA5 - Price Reduced to £120* !! NOT A WIND-UP!

* Maybe!

Further to my recent postings regarding the price of TA5 and the resultant slow take up of places, I proposed the following to "The Management":

- Only approx 46% (of 90) of places are booked (currently 47 booked as of 28/9/05)

- Potential loss to DSC is approx £6700.

- Reduce the price to a more realistic seasonal amount of, say £120

- The extra bookings from this reduced price would generate as much revenue as the current 47 bookings, allowing a price cut for all participants.

As a result of this, Chris and Monty have set me a challenge:

Get at least another 20 people to book (67+ total):sing:

If target is achieved, Chris Bushell will personally hand each participant** a crisp £20 note "cashback" on the day!:sing:

(** including those already paid at "full price")

OK guys and gals...who's up for it now?

Show your support for the club and make a booking!

Just to comfirm that this is not a wind up, if he makes his target you will have the opportunity of seeing me hand over cash to those that have paid the higher price.

It is not something that happens very often, so make the most of it

ziggi 29-Sep-2005 15:15

Well buddy, where's your name on the list then? Or are you sitting on the fence :D

The weather is looking great btw > http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...Dartford&day=6

As much as i'd like DSC to get the money for this trackday, I must admit to looking forward to going to brands with only 47 of us.

ChrisBushell 29-Sep-2005 15:18

Are you refering to me or Ricky. Monty is coming to stay at my place on Tuesday, no problem there, few beers and a curry planned!

Then he told me that we have to be at the track for 07.00 for you lot to sign on!

ziggi 29-Sep-2005 15:29

sorry i meant Richard

RickyX 29-Sep-2005 15:31

Colin,

Don't worry...I'll be there...just waiting for the right moment to let the boss know!

And there in lays a major problem with doing Brands.
Having to arrive early as you can't camp in the paddock overnight.

Jools 29-Sep-2005 16:34

Well, I'll see what's left in my piggy bank, but since I've just bought a bike cash is mighty tight...same as usual then.

There's a campsite close to the circuit.

ChrisBushell 29-Sep-2005 19:34

Just to let those of you who are feeling the pinch know that we take credit cards!

So there is no excuse not to sign up

Come on Jools that triple8 won’t make your neck ache round Brands
It’s like you’ll be taking it back out were it belongs.

You’ll get the pictures of it in the pits and out on the track

you no it makes sense :D

Tantrum992 29-Sep-2005 20:07

Would love to do Brands as never been there before and cause ive only managed two track days this year both with the club, Snetterton and Cadwell, not just that but also to support the club, unfortunatly for me one of the managers is on holiday until two days after Brands which means i cant take a day off as there has to be at least two of us in the office at any time, sorry. hope you make your target, wish i could be there:(

webbyc 29-Sep-2005 21:32

Come on guys sign up I could do with the £20;)

multi600 29-Sep-2005 21:49

Camping

When I've gone to Brands for track day.s I,ve camped outside the main gate no problem. The guy/girl on the gate has let us pu the bikes inside the the track for security. No problem. See you there Paul:frog: and I've got the 70 front profile fitted now:lol:

ChrisBushell 30-Sep-2005 16:26

Got confirmation that Tyreman is coming along

Monty 01-Oct-2005 12:56

As of this morning-Saturday-we now need another 9 entrants to activate cashback-so get booking.
Forcast is 18c and dry-could be the last decent track opportunity you get this year guys.

John

Redruth 01-Oct-2005 14:31

Did you get my cheque Monty? I paid the full price as an act of faith, and because I'd already committed to doing it before the discount price was published... but I could certainly do with the £20 refund from Chris Bushell so come on folks. It will be a beautiful day and a good last outing for those people who only ride in nice weather.

By the way, can you post a link to the thread that's got the list of entrants? :sing:

butch890 01-Oct-2005 17:30

Just spoke to Monty,he has said that people will be able to pay on the day (space permitting) obviously it would be better to prebook your places so that Chris knows how many £20 notes to bring with him!

Just a quick one...

There are 2 of us coming to play from Moto Rapido, Steve Hillary & Steve Moore (me) and as this is our first DSC track day not sure of the following..

garages free? first come first served?
lap timers allowed?
on bike cameras allowed?

thanks & see you all there.

Wilf

wilf 03-Oct-2005 14:33

...falling off and making arse of oneself allowed???

:saint:

phil_h 03-Oct-2005 16:51

Another last-minute taker - (a friend) will be coming along to pay on the day.
Andrew Neville - Fast group

Monty 03-Oct-2005 18:19

The more the merrier boys and girls.
It's going to be a good day with GOOD weather!

John

DaveB916 03-Oct-2005 18:45

Just convinced a mate to split costs of van etc. fron 'Up't Norf' are there still places left in Novice/Inters?

Cheers

Bungi 03-Oct-2005 18:56

and me im in

Henners 03-Oct-2005 19:53

Confirmed ...

Stu748R, Benelli Dave, Simon Guinness and myself will be there Monty :frog: - put us all in the Novices as it's the smallest group. See you Wednesday :D

phil_h 03-Oct-2005 23:06

I might have convinced my brother-in-law, Mike Belcher to come down.
He's only done 1 track day though, and thought it was a complete fiasco.

He'll have to go in the fast group though :puzzled:

Well, he has raced at the manx on a h***a sp1 :o

And he's interested in doing dd next year :saint:

Redruth 03-Oct-2005 23:27

I'm starting to really look forward to this now. Looks like October is the new August. Weather looking good. Just need to avoid any truly reckless behaviour (but that's a given any day of the week) and I'm expecting large helpings of fun in the form of Butch890's Monster what he is bringing for me to have a go on.

:bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy: YEAH Bring it on

Griff 64 03-Oct-2005 23:35

Can you still pay on the day or is it advisable to provisionally book.Won,t no for sure until Tuesday pm.Looking for inters although not been to Brands before so novice would do.

phil_h 04-Oct-2005 00:05

Griff, there are still loads of places so turn up on the day with your licence (and other stuff too !)
Posting your intention here at least lets the organising heros know how many to expect.

Monty 04-Oct-2005 00:55

If all the people who have said they will turn up on the day do-it will be £20 cashback time for everyone-which has GOT to make it a cheap Brands day.

I currently have
15 spaces in Novice
13 spaces in Inter
15 spaces in Fast

So as you can see loads of space-funny how equall the groups all are.

Phil,

Not trying to put a damper on your brother in law's enjoyment but...
since he appears to be a racer, could you make sure that he is aware that a trackday is not a race.
I was on a Brands evening the other week and it was full of club racers who hadn't quite grasped the fact that most people were there to have fun...NOT to race and make agressive moves on fellow riders.
I was nearly put onto the grass by somebody nicking my line into Surtees. Whilst I'm sure that type of move is fine during a race, I didn't appreciate it on a trackday!

Anyway...let's all have fun out there tomorrow!

Wilf,

To my knowledge:

garages free? Yes
first come first served? Yes (I hear Steve always comes first......)
lap timers allowed? Dunno, I doubt it
on bike cameras allowed? Yes I believe so

What bikes are you bringing? 1026 beastie and 999R? Gizza go!! :sing:

Don't forget...we're NOT RACING!! Just having fun!!
