Thruxton sat 1st october

Is any one going for this last for 2005 NG club meet ?

domski 29-Sep-2005 23:58

I am, but only for about 2 hours.

Got to see Louigi, Tom, Deano and the massiiiiive... and catch up with Garry Smith.

Then I'm shooting off at high speed to see Phil Harris, Kyel Hinton and to get wasted with Weeksy.

:D

Was originally going to go along and help Dallas but he has pulled his entry in the Powerbike as he has now decided to sell his ZX10R as he has got himself a 996SPS for next season.
Would have been nice to go along but have lots on and hope to be getting my 996 MOT'd on Saturday.

Hi Mate,
I will be going to watch, but I am not racing. If you want to meet for a cuppa and say hi give us a shout on 07970 658533.

Garry Smith 30-Sep-2005 21:58

Kev,

Dallas's Ducati racing comeback is on the way then!

skidlids 30-Sep-2005 22:08

Yes Garry, been up his garage this evening Ducati bits everywhere and the ZX10R back to road trim with the 16 1/2" Dymags, Ohlins shock etc ready to sell on.
He will be keeping Les Lineys Blue Bodywork but the white frame and wheels are at the sand Blasters/powder coaters at the moment. So watch out for a Blue bike with black frame and orange wheels coming to a track near you in 2006.
He is also talking about having his old 916 Strada back off me to have as a road bike so he can get use to a Ducati again before next season starts. Then once next season is underway he said he may consider selling the Strada to get a 620 for the road also with a view to doing some DD rounds on it.

Good to hear, I'll look forward to seeing you both next season on track.

By the way are you going to the NG Dinner/Dance in November?

skidlids 02-Oct-2005 00:26

Probably not Garry, never done it yet but I will probably be at the Marshalls do at Melksham in the New Year

skidlids 03-Oct-2005 13:37

Interesting 2nd place finisher in the SoT race, I see my mate Dean Silvester (2004 Manx GP Junior winner) finished 2nd, bet he was on a Ducati question is which one the CSC 996RS as usually ridden by Mark Baldock or was it the Dara Brady one that Dean had for the 2004 Manx Senior.
Garry did you go and did you notice which bike it was.

skidlids 03-Oct-2005 13:47

Just checked the actual results and see that Dean was on the CSC bikes that Mark normally rides.
Impressed by Deano's results considering how smashed up he was after the Donington New Era SoT race.

And congratulations Garry on your 3rd in the championship, can you go a step or two higher next year

GsxrAge 03-Oct-2005 19:45

I went up and what a good days racing

It was nice hearing the SOT's going around and the 996/998's still out pacing the only 999 :D

It was a bit cold and it was a shame the last race (powerbikes) was red flaged due to a crash (right in front of us) on the left hander before the complex. It sounds like the guy broke his wrist and is just banged about.

Kev, Yes you are right it was MB's CSC bike, track conditions were a bit patchy in places in the second race and Compton was flying. Deano did really well - he must like pain!

Really looking forward to next season - should be interesting with Andy, Mark C, Deano and myself already fancying the wins! and there are several other riders in the class who have made significant improvements in pace this year with some new recruits in the mix it's gonna be a good one!
