mesh it up ! why do italian bike manufactures always leave big holes in farings eh !! go on somebody tell me its for " coolin " ! they spend all this time on design and leave bloody great big gaps in the fairin . |
[quote]Originally posted by ace i know i,ll put some mesh in , now how much would that have cost ducati , or mv to that cos there the same !!! |
it aids aerodynamics as air that gets forced past the front edge has a natural escape route at the rear of the fairing as opposed to the fairing increasing resistance to wind flow even further ... hth ... |

hmmmm !!! if your on a gp bike maybe ! not on the queens highway dodgin manholes , diesel , an victor meldew in his volvo ! an just wantin your pride an joy to look its best before brussels does its worst !!! |
Ace, I think it looks great. Where did you get the mesh from? What did you use to stick it to the inside? And how did you get it to follow the curve of the fairing? So many questions...! I wanna do the same thing, give us some pointers! :D |

you've bought a "homologated for race use" motorcycle, not a BMW GS. would you buy a Caterham 7 and complain about the flappy doors ??? it is what it is ..... |

i didn't say do not change it ...... simply answered your question .... the statement was more addressed at your complaining about it rather than the solution you found ... you are free to do whatever you like to it ... at least with a 999 you can be confident that whatever you do you can't actually make it any uglier .... :) ...... and welcome .... |
Well said Dib's old boy..... I own one and it's ugly..... oh boy is it a "Minga" |
