Help Please - Sorted now, thanks everyone!!

Hopefully someone might be able to help me out here.

I need to get my bike DD bike to Cadwell this weekend so nelly can pick it up and sort out some crash damage prior to its sale. However, I can't drive my van etc and I'm not going to Cadwell so that makes things a bit difficult.

Are there any racers or spectators going up to Cadwell who might be able to pick up my bike from Twickenham and take it up?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

:)

sorry Tony, no can do this time mate - 2 bikes and 3 peeps + gear this time, so van is just being filled to the gunnells as i type...

Just trying to think who else is coming past your direction:puzzled:

couchcommando 06-Oct-2005 21:49

You're selling a DD bike ? Could be interested, also it's a long shot but if someone is going from your way to Nottingham we are going to Cadwell on Sunday from Nottingham......so that's one leg of the journey for the bike sorted ;) ;)

nelly 06-Oct-2005 21:53

Tony has sold his DD bike. It's comin to mine to be straightened out for the new owner.
I'll go to Cadwell in the van to collect or will open up the workshop to suit to have it dropped off. what ever is easiest for the "carrier" ;)

Tonio600 06-Oct-2005 21:54

Just checked on Viamichelin where was Twinckenham. Actually it could be on my way to Cadwell (coming from Dorking). I've never put 2 bikes on my trailer, but it must be possible... If you explain me how to get to your place (I've never driven inside the M25) and if you can give me a hand to put your bike on the trailer (Julie's not good at all for that...) I think I can take it to Cadwell for you.

Redruth 06-Oct-2005 21:55

Might be possible if I could unload Ali's bike from his (my ex) trailer in his garage and come down to Twickers to load up yours. But he's now in Devon recovering from broken collar bone and I don't have keys for his garage.

Calling Ali - are you on line at all - can you think of any way we could manage this? I can tow the trailer on my car as long as I don't have to REVERSE and as long as someone can help with the bike loading/unloading:o

I've had another thought, my van is insured for anyone to drive so if it makes it easier someone could drive it.

You can fit two bikes in it plus a load of other stuff if you want to take it.

Unfortunately I can't walk so helping load a bike is a bit beyond me at the moment!

Ali broke his collar bone? Why didn't anybody say?

;)

Rattler 06-Oct-2005 22:23

I was just about to post that if I could borrow your van I should be able to get mine and yours in the van and we'd be sorted.

Any good?

It can be its a SMG jobbie, paddle shift - great laugh!!! ;)

TP 06-Oct-2005 22:33

Thanks for the offer Tonio but it looks like Lord Rattler will ride his noble white steed to my saviour.

I might have to give the beemer driving a miss though - I don't think the insurance company would condone me driving with a broken ankle somehow!

Thanks Tim, I appreciate your help. I'll be home all day Saturday so you can pop round at your leisure and get packed etc.

It's not broken, it's merely a light graze - bloody poof!!!

Rattler 06-Oct-2005 22:36

I might be able to pick the van up on Friday eve if suits - will MSN now.

Aye, I is here, floating on a cloud of codeine and red wine induced fuzziness.... :D

Can't think of any way to get the keys for the trailer, but someone's welcome to put a brick through my front window as I'm moving out in a few weeks! Keys are in the dresser my the door, just stay the hell away from my co-codamol stash!

TP 06-Oct-2005 23:04

Well it's all sorted now thank you. Tim has rescued me in my time of need.

:D

What a star! <swoon>

skidlids 06-Oct-2005 23:55

Just for that act of generosity Tim I will deliver a set of discs to you at Cadwell.

Fablus - many thanx !!!

So, now the question is does anyone need any parts bringing back from Nelly? I'll be travelling back in an empty van - so if anyone needs any parts collected delivered etc, give me a tinkle.

Hopefully my DD bike will be out next year in my favoured Yellow and Black paint scheme, does that mean it will be up to date ??

AK 07-Oct-2005 10:39

my taste is worse than AK's - so watch out for the 620 next year......

Its so 1960's that it might just work, particularly at the back end of the year with the new autumnal colours becoming more mainstream and favouring the "waspish" look. ;)

Ray 07-Oct-2005 11:24

Lord R,

I'm surprised you are considering any racing colours other than Silver, (a hallmarked solid silver tank would be nice?!) or Royal Blue at a pinch.

Ray.

Ray.

I thought British Racing Green would be most suitable? Silver is a little Germanic.

Hopefully Nelly will be brining my 50mm Carbon Termis and link pipe to Cadwell for me to pick up there :D

And your discs are now in my van :D

nelly 07-Oct-2005 23:19

:)............i haven't forgot Kev.

Tim, are you dropping both bikes off at my place on the way back? or do i need to be a cadwell in the van??
If I don't need to be in the van, I can turn up in my other Yella machine ;)

I think he was going to drop them off on the way back.

He's got my van now, and I had an emotional farewell with the bike.

:(

I think I may cry ...

Woteva's easiest - if you fancy riding up, then I can drop the bike's back to you.

If you take the van, then i'll only need to load my bike back in your van and switch TP's over.

Tim
