Bike setup in NW?

Anywhere know where I can get my bike setup to suit my weight/riding style in the NW? I don't want shock or fork rebuilds, just to get the best out of what I have by dropping the forks/raising rear ride height/adjusting settings etc.

I think Kais might do such a thing? Anywhere else?

If its just geometry, sag, fork height etc i can do it for free :) Seriously, if you wanna hand have a ride up, I've got spare springs (64/70/75) for the rear shock you can try if we can't get sag right. nice road to test them on as well :)

Twinfan 11-Oct-2005 18:35

Gizmo, I may well take you up on that! I know it's only basic stuff, but I'd need a hand with it all. You sure you're up for it? I reckon I can throw in a few beer tokens as thanks ;)

Gizmo 11-Oct-2005 18:42

yeah, no probs, got all the tools here, it'll only take a few hours depending upon what you wanna do. Beer is off the menu right now but coffee tokens have a similar exchange rate :)

let me know when you wana come up, meant to be picking me new multistrada up this Saturday so thats out but any time other than that is ok.

Like Ian says Shaun, i did :( a combination of bike,me, tyres with no grip and a roundabout mean i am now multi less. Not that badly damaged but insurance wrote it off last week, bike got taken away Thursday. Just got my ex Duc UK demo bike sorted, red S spec, handguards/heated grips, hugger etc all thanks to Charlie at Duc Leeds, taking Carlise/Settle train down to Shipley with missus on Saturday morning and having a tootle back home on it, might stop at the pedal bikers cafe in Gargrave for lunch :)

i know its there somewhere, actually thought of an easier way, just do the fixed end bolt and put an appropriate sized pencil through other eye, draw a radius and measure the distance from fixed end, doh, even less drilling needed :)

I wanted an S spec Shaun, I was offered a brand new silver one at a very, very good price but the Ohlins has appeal plus it means i can swap rear springs, the Showa unit has a special tapered spring which needs a special collar making to use any other spring. Insurance covers majority of it, i've only got to find a few hundred, not bad for a bike that'll be 4 months newer and better spec although it is red and i wanted black.

Sorry to hear Mike, hope you weren't too badly battered, good luck with the next one.

I've just bought a KTM 950 Adventure last week.

ooh, we looked at one but Linzi thought it was too big and high, reason i like the multi is its first bike shes been comfortable on for years and it was pointless buying something she didnt want to get on. Have to say its the only real alternative to the multi, the GS doesnt do it for me and after our trip to the BM dealer in Shipley last week i realised i probably wasn't a BM customer. If KTM did the big supermoto with a better screen and seat i'd probably have gone for that as with smaler wheels it is a bit lower.

Mate of mine has the 950 adventurer and he loves it, he has Mojo the suspension company who do those nice titanium rear shock springs, really knows his stuff and he recons its one of the best bikes around. He's been all over on it, you've made a good choice.

MARTIN H 11-Oct-2005 19:38

Mike I might have a pootle over to Shipley myself on Saturday, what time do you think you will be there?
