only downside is the clutch, just a tad on the grabby side, new plates needed maybee.

mikesps 14-Oct-2005 17:12

916 SP?

Redsps 14-Oct-2005 17:13

close, ish.....

mikesps 14-Oct-2005 17:14

916 SPS?

Rob B 14-Oct-2005 17:14

So what the story Robin, going over to evil, modern machinery?

Redsps 14-Oct-2005 17:22

yep, one of the very first 916sps batches, i'd forgotten how well these bikes go. still not a patch on the t8 though, but at least it works:D:D.

rob, I was sliding into a depressed mode again with all the T8 probs, so found this little beasty tucked away at the right price, not a replacement for the T8, more of an addition to the collection to use more regulary if you get my drift.

just need to earn more pennies to cover their board and lodgings:):)

just need to get out on it...

I reckon my ideal Ducati so far is an 851 SP3 with a 996 SPS engine. With the cams degreed, shimmed with small closing rocker clearances and the FIM chip my SPS has so much more mid range than the SP3. Still wouldn't sell either of them though.

Mike,

Now your talking, that's why I am building my 888's 996 engine to SPS spec and beyond this winter. Best of both worlds IMHO.

Rgds, Rob

rob, do you know what the pipe length variations are for the corse 888 etc bikes exhaust sections, and termi pipe lengths.
there are quite a few different parts , any ideas mate.

Rob B 14-Oct-2005 18:08

Robin,

No, I haven't had the pleasure of fondeling enough of those. Jasper has a few dimensions and if he can't help, ping Mike C or Mark T a note on the Yahoo board.

Rob B 14-Oct-2005 18:09

P.S. Your new bike looks the biz

BDG 14-Oct-2005 18:12
