What colour frame would look best on a red 748 - 998.

Original Grey

blACK FOR ME, LOOKS GOOD ON EITHER RED OR YELLOW

dave996 25-Oct-2005 22:02

Hmmmmm black.......
Right, who wants to strip down me bike for me so I can get the frame powder coated?

;)

Davieravie 25-Oct-2005 22:28

Black seems to be the new red!

Nattyboy 25-Oct-2005 22:48

Depends on the wheel colour I spose...black generally Id say, but as im doing a '97 foggy rep it has to be bronze frame with the black wheels..

its not that hard to do.
these bikes pull apart very quickly. in big blocks.
hardest bit will be if the swing arm bolt has seized into the cases. other than that you could strip it in a day

I like the original grey colour, not a big fan of black or red, makes the frame stand out too much for my liking.

I prefer red - Ducati racing frames are always red ... aren't they?

butch890 26-Oct-2005 17:28

Grey. Sorry, as close to bare metal you can get. Metal is gorgeous. Fact.

Chaz 28-Oct-2005 12:19

How about white, Rich (louigi moto) did his 748 in white looked great.

Oxford DSC members have just had two Ducati frames and 4 pairs of wheels powder coated at my mates place in Eynsham, my DD bike will soon be getting stripped and frame and wheels will soon be going there along with my 3 spoke front mag all to have a change of colour.

They do most colours, check out Senna3's red wheels, Dallas orange ones, my TL s Yellow ones, they also do a nice silver that when I had my CBR 6 done people though I had got it chrome plated.

Harv748 28-Oct-2005 13:12

Interesting that Kev, as I'm going to get my wheels redone over the winter and was just looking into where to get them done.

Will they do a 'full and pukka' job on mag wheels...I've heard they need special treating prior to painting/coating? What services do they offer...just painting or other treatments as well?

Whats the company name?

Ditto.

dave996 28-Oct-2005 14:08

Kev, Already had a swing arm done by him for a mate, top job.
How much is he charging for the frame?

Harv, I seem to remember asking him about mag wheels and he said he could do them, however it could have been a dream as I have been drinking heavily since then!!!!

Drink...feck...girls...:frog:

dave996 28-Oct-2005 14:24

Drink....married....doh!!!!!

£35 per wheel by the way;)

I'm getting mine done at some point, either that or selling them.

skidlids 28-Oct-2005 14:38

As I said he's a mate so I normally get my standard wheels done a bit cheaper than that.
And yes he has the baths for doing the mag wheels properly before the powder coating is done, Dallas just had 6 mag wheels done there I will have to find out how much Dallas paid per wheel
