www.123-reg.co.uk

Backed by pipex, cheap as chips.

http://www.advancednetworkhosts.com/...g/megaplan.htm

2.5Gb for £4.50/month. They use cpanel as well which I'm pretty keen on as a management tool.

You'd have to register the .co.uk over here, but it's easy to point the dns at the US host.

No way I give money to an US company... I'm French :lol:

More seriously, I prefer to deal with a local company. So let's have a look at ukreg.com

I currently use Streamline.Net for hosting (but I'm not impressed) and http://www.123-reg.co.uk for domains £6 for a .co.uk for 2 years.

I'm thinking about moving over to http://www.sitelutions.com who host Yahoo, Amazon and Google - they seem cheap too.

I currently use http://www.sonataweb.net/ for my Ducatiracing web site, think it's about $7 a month, they support Php and use C-panel.

But, they are American. :lol::lol::lol:

We register all our domains at www.lowcostnames.co.uk and then forward them to wherever they happen to be hosted. Cheap to register, and you get a web contorl panel to do your own forwarding. The reason is that we've been burned in the past with trying to move domains and ISPs don't respond. It means you get a choice.

Can't answer the hosting question without knowing what kind of technology you are intending to use on the website and what facilities you need.

Personally I use oneandone.co.uk. £1.99 pa for a .co.uk and the website creator costs £28 a year and you get an 8 page website!

Ditto - I use oneandone for about half a dozen domain names - good, cheap and reliable. They do good starter packages, but haven't tried any of thier advanced ones (which I guess would cost a bit more).
