Hello all! - New comer to DD racing

Better introduce myself to you Ladies and Gents.

My name is max and I’ve been riding Dukes for 4 years now. I have a ‘97 900SL (#155 MKV) with FCR’s for the road and am currently re-jigging my beloved 583cc ‘96 600SS for class 'B' Desmo Due (many thanks to Chris B for his patience/advise).

I have never raced before and just can’t wait to get started in 2006!

See you all soon (look out for the old red Fiat Panda with a bike trailer)!

Max

Welcome to the playground, watch out for toys flying from prams.

Don't ask me for advice on running a 583 someone will only be along afterwards to tell you i'm talking cr*p. What do I know.

Still for what its worth 600SS = Good choice

ahh the rumours have started, so you're Max Biaggi are you....wondered where you were gonna get a ride.....you know you're not eligible for the 583 class don't you ? :biaggi::biaggi::biaggi:

Grib 14-Nov-2005 13:25

Welcome aboard :) I'm going to be a 583 riding novice next year too, looks like it's going to be a good class.

Chris Wood 14-Nov-2005 14:22

Welcome....

I'm riding DD #10 mixing it in class b with the funsters next year..

Things I learnt last year...
No need to warm your tyres, just go!
Cornerspeed, cornerspeed, cornerspeed....don't brake, dont brake, BRAKE!
Good starts = good results

But what do I know....

Hi Max,

Welcome to DD, sure you're going to love every minute of it. :D I've also got an SL with FCRs for the road. Great wheelies but a bugger to start!

Cheers,

Ali

I think your advice have as much value as advice coming from other experienced racers. You all don't ride in the same way... that's why you all think differently... and that doesn't help me

Btw bienvenue a toi Max, c'est cool que tu viennes remplir les rangs de la classe "B"... :)

No relation to Mr Biaggi!!! PS - Did you know that he has a bald spot on his head and wears a hairpiece? Honest!! Must surely be the only syrup in Moto GP.

As for Ali, my SL starts first turn, from cold, no choke, all weathers, just one twist of the throttle and idles in a fashion the Mikuni CV's couldnt even dream of - Maybe I should note the needle/jet sizes for you?

Hi Max,

That'd be great, but only when you've got them apart the next time. Mine were set up on the dyno, and produce a silky smooth 78bhp, so I'm quite happy with the way they run when warm, but they're a bugger to get started. It may be an issue elsewhere but it sounds like you've got it sorted so all settings greatfully received! :D

Cheers,

Ali
