Picture 1987 Luchinelli bike

I'm looking for a picture of this bike.
Has anyone a picture? If so, is it possible to post it here?

Thanks

Is that pictures from the Daytona Battle of the Twins you want?

That is indeed the bike, thanks, but I'm looking at a picture of the bike, without the driver and in a side perspective :D

Something like this, but different :P

Anyone ?

That's not the bike John Hackett has is it? Might be worth a call.

John Hackett?

Has he build a replica like this one?
Nice...

yellow916 17-Nov-2005 16:47

I thought he owned the actual bike?

I'm pretty sure there are pics in a couple of my books.
I'll have a look this evening.

mikesps 17-Nov-2005 16:55

The bike above looks like it is the one that was in the Ducati museum last year.

There are quite a few pics in the book 'DUCATI the untold story' bt Sir Alan Crashcart.
Pics are a bit too big for my scanner and the Stella is kicking in,..............:bouncy:

Here's the cover pic ...
"The front jacket photograph by phil masters shows marco lucchinelli winning aboard the eight-valve 850 desmo at the 1987 bott in daytona"

There's also a big double page shot and a couple of half-page-ish grid pics.

And in the virgin 'ducati - the official racing history' there are a couple of pokey pics.

This one

Judging by the finned barrels and the cam inspection covers, bike 618 in the museum looks like an F1 to me. The one at Daytona, with the double sided exhaust is definitely an 8 valve

Ah, my grasp of the english language has returned! The picture above is an example of the type you would like. Sorry.

Try this horribly underexposed attempt http://mikesps.smugmug.com/photos/29554299-M.jpg

Anybody got a clearer photo from the museum? My camera died on the day and the photos were taken by my son with his 3.99 bargain camera. I suppose I will have to go back and take them all again. What a shame:)

That is indeed a mistake from me.
The picture I show is indeed a F1 racing.
Which is nicer than the 851 :(
I thought this could be a nice project, but I think it will be difficult to find the parts for this bike. Thanks all for you answers.

RightSaidFred 21-Nov-2005 02:08

Is it one of these? Was at Ducati last week.

RightSaidFred 21-Nov-2005 02:09

Or this

Douglas851 22-Nov-2005 00:04

Both pictures are of the last of the F1s with rising rate rear suspension instead of the direct acting a la LC and 900ss monoshock.
