Stick-on number board

Has anybody bought and fitted a Nose Fairing Number board from the Ducati-1 shop on Ebay.
Any feed back would be appreciated on quality and ease of application, thanks

yes,the gel boards have two colours around the edge, gold (for 916 frame) grey for 996/8 frame. i took it to a local sticker guy to fit (£5),they heat up gel pad with dryer then wet the bike nose cone, great product, but can be a bit tricky fitting your self.

Heat it with a hair drier and its easy, must be I did it:lol:

Tony

Walk 200 yards up the road and check mine out, mine came direct from the guy in Sheffield at Pro Chip who makes them.;)

Thanks for the advise guys, I'll give you a ring Shaun I didn't know yours was a stick on I thought it was standard fit.
I think that says something about the quality of theses number boards, either that or I'm blind as a bat :lol:

:)

Tony don't do what someone else did and buy a used one of ebay that then wouldn't stick on:lol::lol::lol:

Buy a nice clean one like rcgbob's then apply spray on flies like mine.

Tony, also the one in your photo isn't a stick on board, that's painted on, as you can see from Shaun's immaculate bike in his photo they are slightly different (round the screen bolts etc)

Nothing escapes the eagle eye of the DSC's Inspector Clouseau.

Mines a spray job........................love the flys, do you buy them loose or by the box?

TonyH 18-Nov-2005 13:50

John,
Its not painted its a sticker that wraps around the light cut outs and screen lip and its not one of the gel boards, have a quick look at the ebay ad.

Nose Fairing NUMBER BOARD 748 916 996 998 Ducati
Item number: 8015576089

I've seen those flies before, they were on the Multistrada just before it went up for sale.

Paul748bp 18-Nov-2005 23:20

i have seen this and thought about until my mate told me its just cut out bit of white vynil and can be bought from any model shop for about 3quid per square meter im sure u could kindly trace someones and then cut it out and DIY it ????

27 quid seems a bargain but i dont think it will last

HUNT749 19-Nov-2005 09:43

mines a gel type one with a gold line around it defo not cut out vinyl:)...

27 pounds would be a lot for a piece of vinyl tho:lol:

you need to look at one they really are good quality...

didnt realise you could by flies in a spray can yet.........:lol::lol:

Thanks for all the advice everyone, looks like a re-think is in order.

Totto 19-Nov-2005 14:17

Gel one here as well, heat up & place on with the skill of a brain surgeon ,or have about five go's at it like me :D

Looks good though & offers protection form stone chips

TonyH 19-Nov-2005 15:07

I think you lot have convinced me to spend the extra and go for pro chip, there only about 35 miles from me so I'll ask them if they will fit it as well:)

Stinkwheel 27-Nov-2005 10:35

Hi Tony, I bought the same numberboard off ebay. It's a bit tricky to fit, you need to remove the top fairing and screen but it looks absolutely superb. Much better than the thick gel type and about £100 cheaper than a painted numberboard...
