makes the race system avalible with the 999s 05 into a 57mm steel 2-1-2

goes for about €1300 , less if you can get a discount
better than €3000 ish for the 57mm system

wilf 20-Nov-2005 19:10

The termi upgrade kit is avialable for the 999S-05, as written above, it converts the asymetric half system into the 57mm full system.

the downside... you have to take your termi end can apart and change the the front plate where the pipwork enters it to a new plate (comes with the kit) with larger holes.

The full system complete (new end can with big holes, 57mm pipework, carbon cover, carbon heat guard, ECU, air filters) is only £1260 inc vat (£1400 less DSC discount) so its hardly worth spending the money on the upgrade kit.

NB: the full system needs to be fitted properly and needs some 'mods' to make it fit so it doesn't foul the swingarm or melt the bottom of the fairing. seen lots of these big systems fitted and lots of melted fairings or scraped swingarms! the ECU also needs to be set up. any good dealer can do this for you, expect to pay about 4 hours labour to fit and set up.

£1260 for a 57mm termi, I want one, any Ider where I can get one from,for a 999s 03, thanks
:flame::burn::burn:

Can be found here, £950, I was quoted about £750 from my regular dealer but I do not want the ecu or filters so he is looking to see if the pipework can be ordered separately and considering the ecu is supposed to be £400+ the price will come down to a more affordable level, hopefully.

Ian, is that £950 for the full 57mm system?

iang 22-Nov-2005 13:33

No Khu for that transformation kit, the full bike specific kit for the 749R is £2800, I think he said about £2200 to £2300 to me.

You have a PC3 so you could buy the cheaper kit from another model and not use the ecu, they sell well on ebay to offset the cost

The 05 model 999S full s/steel 57mm system complete is £1400 and I think I can get it for about £1100 ish then you could sell your system with a brand new 999S ecu or sell them separately, you would probably get £700 + for it especially with an uncoded ecu, so £400 ish sounds tempting for a full 57mm sysyem.

I do presume that the full 57mm system would fit the 749R apart from the ecu, someone correct me if I am wrong.

I personally cannot see how this can be £1400 yet the proper 749R one is £2800, double the cost all for a titanium back box ( does not go any faster and the weight is hardly going to be noticeable to 99.9% of us ) and a pair of different intake funnels ????

chillo 22-Nov-2005 15:56

very interested in this kit!!

will it be available without the ecu? and how much will it be without ecu??

i'm assuming it will be ok for a 999R?

chillo 13-Mar-2006 15:23

just wondered if anyone had got this kit without the ecu and air filters?
£949 +p&p is very good! wonder how much without:eureka:

khu996 13-Mar-2006 15:41

Dunno about without the kit and filters, but isn't this the system that Andyb has just installed?

chillo 13-Mar-2006 15:55

yeah, i think it is! maybe going down this route myself cos under a grand for a new 57mm system seems almost like a decent price! even though it is still nearly £1k:alien:

"This kit consists of all the 57mm pipework, carbon fibre heatshields, race air filters, fixings and race ECU that are required to convert the '05 999S's OE Termignoni half system to a full race 57mm system!"

I know its probably been discussed before, but i will be using a PC3 so does it matter if its the 999s ecu or is it better to stay with the normal assym race ecu?

:puzzled:

But you must ank yourself. Is it going to make that much diffrence. £1000 for a pipe or a grand on set up. You could go down the road of head work for a grand or on them lines.

and still need a decent exhaust to compliment it!:D

The Big Red One 14-Mar-2006 20:13

Andy only saying that because he had to convince the wife and the bank manager:D But dosen't that also work the other way around big pipe no motor work to compliment it:D What power gains do you get with the full 57mm pipe or is it the way it picks up?

andyb 14-Mar-2006 21:58

JHP dyno pc111 and 57mm = 148bhp! and 80 lbs of torque!

and that was a year ago with only 2000 miles on the old girl...hmm service at jhp in a week........what next?;)

pedro 14-Mar-2006 22:08

christ! your lap times should be so low with all the bhp.

The full 57mm termi systems (with air filter/ECU) from Ducati are now £1800 ish!:o not £1400. so the upgrade kit is due a price hike any day now. if you can find one in stock you may get the 2005 price.

best to know now !

Good power Andy. Is that the R model you have? I had mine on the Dyno and got no where near that. But mine is the 999 basic model. Do have a pipe and race ecu haven't been back since i fitted the commander but i can't see it making that much more.

To get anything out of fitting the pc111 you need to set it up on a dyno! it may well be running weak with that pipe with the potential of expensive consequences!

The Big Red One 15-Mar-2006 18:59

It's going down once the weather breaks for the full dyno.
