:o I was kidding! I couldn't afford to replace it should I throw it in a skip! Tempting though! |
Sadly they only seem to let the 748/9 race with the axe murders at national level which includes MRO, otherwise its SoT, Open, Powerbike etc. |
Oh right, I thought Bemsee allowed it, in the Nationwide I mean? I'm sure I've seen pics of one running in 600 supersports in a nationwide meeting? It's a shame they'll let any 4-valve twin up to 750cc in the Thunderbike class EXCEPT the 748/9's .... grrrr That's discrimination that is, where's the number for my local MP ... |
£22000 for the power of a std 998s...............:o:lol::lol: |

Ive heard lambrini is quite good............:lol: Mind you, having a Rolls Royce doesnt make you a millionaire either..........:o |
I stand corrected as of a couple of days before TP started this post North Glos are allowing upto 750cc to race in the 600 Open class. http://www.ngroadracing.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1723 |

That's because they don't want to allow anything that will thrash their beloved Buells-which a 748/9 most certainly would................:mad: John |

Grrrr ... I have an idea for a SoT bike that wold kick the arse of a few bikes out there now ... I just need someone to help me with the cash side of things ... oh well ... maybe a TZ :D |
"maybe a TZ"-maybe a TZ what??-you would never FIT on a TZ mate-on the other hand perhaps you would, there is a guy who races MRO who weighs about 19stone and races a TZ, it looks like a minimoto but he still races, and he's quick..............:o Whats in your mind Tony?? John |

Ahh, that fateful question dreaded by every Aussie :P |

Ha ... beer! I'm not really considering racing a TZ to be honest. There is a bike I'd love to build and race and there is a couple of series for it. So it's spec would ultimately be dependant on the rules fo the series that is chosen but it would be pretty good I reckon. Just not cheap :( Oh well ... |
When you say not cheap, what kind of money are we talking about? 8 grand for the bike (new), another 5 to sort it? |
Quote:
Yes Or, between £2k-£5k for a used bike depending on condition and maybe £5k-£7k to sort that. |
Ah, got it. If my thinking is correct, you may find that "sorting it" doesn't cost quite as much as you think, especially if you "sort it as you get faster". A lot of "sorting" being done on race bikes is left over thinking from blinging up bikes for trackdays. Oh no, not me sir! Never!:rodent: TP, just do it! |

All good points. Unfortunately it's a moot point because I don't have the cash to even buy the bike! |
