New Tattoo

This morning I went to have an old tattoo covered up. This is what it was like before:

and two and a half hours later it looked like this:

:D I'm really happy with it. I'd forgotten how much the outline work hurts though! Just got to keep rubbing Savlon into it now and hope it stays scab free ;)

Nick 916 07-Dec-2005 18:21

know that feeling...Cant wait to go back and have some MORE!!! nice bit of work that.

Grib 07-Dec-2005 18:22

Thanks Nick :) I'm already planning another...you soon forget how much it hurts and it's worth it when they've done a really nice job at the end.

Rossco 07-Dec-2005 19:09

That will look lovely with your backless dress:lol:

Grib 07-Dec-2005 19:11

I don't own a backless dress, but thanks anyhow :P

It does look stunning grib...I have toyed with the idea but prefer the henna ones myself...
I have a short boredom threshold and could see me wishing I hadn't done it after a fortnight

Tattoos are big and they are clever. Just not when they are done like this...

Nice one Carbon, I'm thinking of getting something similar done. I'm off to meet an artist to get a design done next week.

How long did it take to get all of that done? Did you do it in one sitting?

TP, done in 2 x 2 hour (ish) sessions. The restricting factor was how long the "artist" could keep concentrating for. Outline done in 1 session with the filling done next session.

The only bit that "stung" was were it wraps in to my arm pit

Ah, nice one ... I've been told what I'm asking for could take up to 6 hours. I was kind of hoping I might be able to last the lot in one sitting.

Is it remotely possible do you reckon?

Grib 09-Dec-2005 11:46

Mine took just over 2 and a half hours in one sitting. The tattooist still seemed quite happy and by that time you're kinda getting used to the feeling anyway, so you could maybe sort it in two long sessions if they're willing to work that long. The real killer is the outline work, so if there's a lot of that you might not want to suffer it for too long, that proper hurts!

Mmmmm, got me wondering now if mine was 2 or 3 sessions. Not sure now, but, know for sure that the sessions were scheduled for 2 hours and drifted in to 2 1/2 hours ish.

Must admit, I could have sat for longer but the work is very "intense" for the artist and the limiting factor was how long he could work on such fine detail work and still do a good job.

I'd be guided by the artist, when he says he's tired and had enough, then it's time to stop and come back later on. Last thing you want is him having a slip in concentration and making an error .... can't rub it out afterwards.

Fair enough, good points!

I'll see what she says.

Thanks again.
