My early Xmas present-AHHHHHH!!! 3 months ago i broke my elbow playing squash.Went to play a nice backhand shot and the joint just decided to break!!So,i went in on the 14 September to have it fixed.2 months later it was still not right. The surgeons in their ultimate wisdon had decided to leave some of the broken bits in the joint stating"don't worry they won't affect it,physio will sort it out!!" So, i did 8 weeks of excrutiating physio, followed by an x-ray,ct scan and then guess what? Yep,the bones are jamming the joint up,trapping all the nerves and we'll just open it up again. But not in the same place.Oh no,lets make your elbow look like a patchwork!! So,for you enjoyment,1 week after surgery,i give you the joy of my elbow(you can just see the previous scar!): Lower |
upper |
And who said trackdays were dangerous?? |
Bugger.... squash a viscious game, hope it's sorted now |
Bugger! That doesn't look like much fun! Did they tell you why the elbow just 'let go' like that? Ligaments not tight enough? |
TP,i dislocated it 20 years ago in a bike smash and basically arthritis has been eating into it until the bone has cried enough(christ i'm only 39!!) and shattered. |

:( I guess that means my knee and ankle are going to fall apart in another 9 years ... |

Don't be daft boy, I smashed my ankle to hell and gone 40(god is it REALLY that long!!) ago-basically they wanted to 'tidy it up' by amputating my foot. Anyway my old man wouldn't let them (thank's dad) so I still have a foot and no problems with it-my left wrist and thumb however are another story-and I only did thast 5 1/2 years ago........... :o John |
Graham,that's a "genuine" 39 not a "wannabee 39!!":PI couldn't be a Wannabee!!!;) |
If i doesn't heal up right, looks like the SP5 will be going and something kinder on the arms coming!! |
Don't sell it. When I was looking for an SP I spoke to a guy in Ireland with the same problem. He'd just said, "sod it" and stuck a set of rentals on the 888!:o |

Two operations on the right knee with bone and cartilage removed, I still have problems with it. The main weight bearing bone in the ankle cracked in half, still not healed properly after 13 weeks. Right wrist broken and ligament snapped, never had that fixed or the bone chips removed, gives me grief regularly. And my left should han't healed yet either and it's causing nerve problems down my left arm now ... :( I'm a mess and I've only just turned 30! Still, the ankle and shoulder should be alright for rugby in a few months :D  |
Tp,it will be ok for Australian Rugby-You don't get near the ball that often!! |

So I've only got another 18 years to go then!! Hope it heals and sorts the problem mate. |
