Bad news that mate,I will send a postcard though!! Jasper, sunning himself on free holiday in Bermuda |
Hey it happened to me not so long ago....however, the only good news is that the bank will refund the money to you straight away so you should be OK. On the flip side, though they will have to send you out new cards. hope all is OK |
On a serious note(no really!!).I hope the bank sorts you out mate and apart from some inconvenience everything is ok. |
was your card info taken from your pc{ie have you bought something online with your card} thats all it takes, or have you put your card in the hole in the wall to take out some money and had it read by a card reader,ps the card readers the thieves use are much smaller now, ps hope it goes all right for you and have a good xmas :flame::burn::burn: |
Tough break mate. There's no money in my account either, but in my case I know exactly who spent it all. ME :sniff::sniff::sniff: |
Happened to me too mate, on a car that was never even authorised (!!) as I was only using it for the 0% offer. Makes a mockery of the whole system when they can do that - it was used in the US to buy clothes from an online store and sent to a US address! |
Happened to me a few months back, took me over my overdraft limit and my bank just let it happen all they did was send me a letter saying I had exceeded my overdraft and charged me for it. Next I was waiting for forms I had to fill in and return, it was a couple off weeks before they recredited my account, soon as they did two small amounts vanished as if somebody was testing. This time I made them change my Debit card. Hope they sort you out quicker than they did me as it certainly caused a few problems being overdrawn for a couple off weeks |
bad luck that, we have had something similar happen to us the wifes switch card was cloned and used for on line gambling. First Direct were good and the only inconvenience was waiting for the new cards. |
Went into my bank(Nationwide)today and to say they were helpful would be an understatement. They can`t tell me how it was done yet,but the receiver was a company called my travel at Kings Lynn,I asked directory inquiries for their number and they said thee was no such firm listed in Kings Lynn.Even tho the transaction was still being processed it couldn`t be stopped.I don`t use this card online,so I don`t think it was on the internet. The bank has made sure I`ve got cash over xmas, but reckon it could be a while for I get a new card this time of the year tho. Look on the brightside tho, nobodys died. |
they do exsist in kingslynn its part of first choice http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/fc/prom...id=my+travel&x Have two branchs one on broad street and one on the high street.. Im a delivery driver for lynx/ups in kingslynn Simon |
Thank you,they go thru First choice,that`s why I couldn`t find a number |

Cheers Simon, found out what has happened, the girl in the travel agents typed in a card number one digit out on the 16 digit number from mine, same expiry date, pure accident:o Trouble is I spent all friday down the bank stopping everything for no need! Can`t re-instate that card, got to wait for a new one, with the xmas post that could be a while:( Travel agent was well apoligetic, gonna try and get a free holiday out of `em now:lol::lol::lol: Can you believe that I traced that with the help of this board, thanks again Simon. PS.Always new them Kings Lynn Buggers couldn`t count:P |
just goes to show that there is a reason we spend so long on these forums:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Simon |
Last month some toss pot, used a card like mine with my details on it at a Tescos in London, TWICE, totaled about £400 at the end of the month. I did have the money and i suppose they will have a good Crimbo. After a bit of chasing the bank gave me my money back! Yorkie. P.S. Good job i check my bank statements!!!! |

Glad you've got it sorted mate. |
During a sales meeting in a hotel near Kettering on Tuesday this week, a mate had 4 cards taken out of his wallet during a coffee break. Nothing else in the room was touched, 8 lap tops, mobiles, car keys etc etc. The theft was noticed within 1hr 45mins, by this time all 4 cards had been used for a small transaction between £25 and £50 and then a biggie had been tried. One card got hit for £2,500 and the other 3 had attempted hits of £3,000 to £4,500 :o Along with the cards they took his photo id driving license, took a card and license in to the bank and tried to take out £4,000 in US $. They asked the guy to take seat while they processed the transaction, and he did ... for about 2 mins before walking out as though nothing was wrong. All on CT TV, but, the police don't hold out any hope of finding the guy :o:o |
