Yeah, it can't have been easy having a talent like Rossi arriving just as he was hoping to repeat his 250 results in 500's, and I think Rossi is an absolute master at winding Biaggi up so he looks like a pr@t.

Feel pretty sorry for the way things have ended for him in Moto GP (however much he might have been the architect of his own demise). It would be good to see him doing well in WSB (particularly if he's on a Duke), but will his style work well on a superbike :puzzled:

Gizmo 29-Dec-2005 12:55

ooh now there's a surprise :D Ducati are short of cash, Biaggi has Camel funding him, their millions of euro could probably run all of Ducati Corse :) It looks like yellow might be the fastest colour in WSB next year :D

the phantom pieman 29-Dec-2005 12:57

At least it will make WSB a little more interesting ....

Monty 29-Dec-2005 14:45

"but will his style work well on a superbike?"

In my opinion yes-Max is the archetypal 250GP rider-all corner speed and absolute precision. Dukes like that, the 916 when it was first released, (and by definition the 999 since it is very similar in terms of size and layout) was stated to be based on a 250GP bike in terms of size and handling-all corner speed, he should go well.
As to whether I think he should be there and will Ducati Corse be able to handle him and his well known tantrums-that's another matter-but-they are an Italian team, and he's Italian so if anyone can sort him they should be able to.
The Camel money would be pretty handy as well I think................

I hope he goes there and Troy kicks him in the arse every race - I shall be quite mirthful!

ericthered40 29-Dec-2005 16:02

Glad he's got a ride, may be not of late but i can remember his 250 days
and some awesome riding. I think he's gonna go well in wsb he's been in mgp to long chasing golden boll-ox. :)

Twinfan 29-Dec-2005 16:35

He's not got the ride yet ;)

YMFB 29-Dec-2005 16:52

doesnt he have a problem, nobody likes him as he chucks his teddy out of the pram everytime he is asked to do do anything.

VanDaMauler 29-Dec-2005 17:41

People like bayliss, Haga,Kagayama etc will love kicking the Roman moaner`s ass....

They`ll be lining up to kick it.

Did they stop the wild card rule ? If not, Shakey byrne can kick his ass at Brands too...

But it should make WSB a bit more interesting though...

Brogins 29-Dec-2005 19:30

Not sure news from Italy about this possible deal.... they are saying of Rolfo (ex 250) in SBK with the Caracchi Team!!!!
Too many Italians!!!
But I would love another Italian after PsicoLanzi - Rolfo or Max - even Max is a pain in the ass - riding a Duke... ..and guys, remember, Max is a pr@t ..but is still fast

Can the 999 get back the WSB title in 2006.. ?

JPM 29-Dec-2005 19:30

I'm guessing the money might be the big draw for Ducati...

keefer 29-Dec-2005 19:35

what's the score then ?
are we talking factory deal or some other sort of team ?
and how come camel seam to follow him around wherever he goes ?
hope it comes of I think he is good

Max will bring £££££££££££££££££££££'s

World Superbike needs the publicity:o

Max will get his arse kicked

A bloke called Troy (one of two) will win and a bloke called Carl won't be at some of the races
:D

Brogins 29-Dec-2005 21:53

In the Ducati Italian forums are giving Roby Rolfo SURE on a duke in WSB.. F05 with Ducati corse updated kits - Caracchi team -
No mention on Biaggi future..

doogalman 30-Dec-2005 10:42

Just tabloid rumours i think, to sell copies in middle of winter. If it did happen it would be interesting.

couchcommando 04-Jan-2006 17:17

Hope he gets it, but will He turn out like Mcwilliams did in BSB.....

Ozz 05-Jan-2006 11:02

With Pons pulling out of motogp how about 2 more Dukes in motogp????

Felix 05-Jan-2006 14:21

'Tis a real loss. Just goes to show how much influence Honda have in MotoGP. I am glad that Casey Stoner has a ride, though. Not too fussed about Checa.

Ray 05-Jan-2006 14:44

The more the merrier, if it makes for a big grid and close racing.

Ray.

Felix 05-Jan-2006 15:16

Max seems like he's made a deal with Suzuki: Max to Suzuki WSB

The WSB grid will be pretty impressive this season and crowded at the top. Should be great fun. Can't wait for Max and Foggy to have a fist fight!

domski 05-Jan-2006 15:25

There is talk of him going to Ten Kate as a 3rd rider too.

Whatever happens, it's gunna be a cracking year in every Championship... just when you think it can't get better...

GsxrAge 05-Jan-2006 19:47

Hmmm Max and John kosinski ( spelling ) weren't they carved from the same piece of stone ????

Nigel C 05-Jan-2006 20:06

Read Febuarys "Superbike" interesting little article about Max Biaggi with some interesting stuff that explains alot about his current predicament .
I'd type it up here but it would take me ages ;)

domski 05-Jan-2006 21:42

I think Max is very misunderstood.

He's clearly one of the best racers of all time, and didn't even start racing until he 18, unlike Rossi who was a World Champion at the same age!!

Not many people have won 4 x 250 titles in a row, and in 14 consecutive seasons he's never finished lower than 5th in the championship, and that was this season.

His career is only second to Rossi (as current riders go)...

2005 - 5th - MotoGP
2004 - 3rd - MotoGP
2003 - 3rd - MotoGP
2002 - 2nd - MotoGP
2001 - 2nd - 500cc
2000 - 3rd - 500cc
1999 - 4th - 500cc
1998 - 2nd - 500cc
1997 - 1st - 250cc
1996 - 1st - 250cc
1995 - 1st - 250cc
1994 - 1st - 250cc
1993 - 4th - 250cc
1992 - 5th - 250cc

Having said all that, I find him irritating and he moans more than me!!!

Felix 05-Jan-2006 21:53

Good perspective, domski. Surely, he can't moan more than some people on this board.;)

deej 09-Jan-2006 23:05

i cant beleive he moans more than you domski

a great great 250 rider and would do well on a 999 if he could keep his gob shut

VanDaMauler 10-Jan-2006 01:05

All will be revealed on the 25th of Feb in Quatar...

Jasper 10-Jan-2006 10:43

AGE996,You are right about the similaritys between Biaggi and Kocinski, both Prodigious talents that needed to keep their mouths shut!!Thing its,it takes more than pure riding ability to keep your job!!
