Yeah but,no but,it was'nt really silver,....more of a seventies metalflake stylee,...........
I'll post a pic in a mo.............

Rattler 13-Jan-2006 21:30

It was the 2001 one off paint job for Imola. A kinda copy of the Paul Smart bikes. TB had already won the title, but then crashed it in the race!!!

They've not used silver since!!

Tim

KeefyB 13-Jan-2006 21:55

JPM 13-Jan-2006 22:47

.....Wasn't it Laconi that caused the crash?

Twinfan 13-Jan-2006 22:53

Yep, on the Aprilia RSV.

dave996 13-Jan-2006 22:57

broke TB's collar bone to boot

greenmachine 13-Jan-2006 23:22

Do a search on autotrader for ducati 996 and there's one for sale in silver - maybe the dealer will send you a few pics if you ask nicely?

Good luck!

andyb 13-Jan-2006 23:25

In the "hall of fame" the factory Museum, this is getting further away from the door, as with all the old models!:lol:

thanks for the help gents.
I wanted a close up to see how much fleck is in the baylis bike.
but on a side is there a paint code for the final addition SS bikes which do use the plain silver ?

ha
don't know about a full rep paint scheme but I do fancy a different colour.
so I can have yellow for show and silver for go :D

There's loads of fleck - its way over the top. It would look better in flat silver I reckon - but if its an Imola rep you're after go for the metaflake.

andyb 14-Jan-2006 21:36

In theory there will be what hodgson 03, toseland 04, lavilla 05.............bah its crap.....itll never be competative.even on a level 1000cc playing field!

Rattler 14-Jan-2006 21:53

Proves what a great engine it is - just a shame they had to change the bodywork ;)

Rossco 14-Jan-2006 22:09
