How many made? - 2004 749r carbon Would anyone know how many 749r, carbon bodywork version, were made for the homolgation in 2004 ? and would you know how many found there way to the UK as official UK bikes? :puzzled: [Edited on 17-1-2006 by Carbon749] |
I was always under the impression that 800 numbered bikes were produced to meet homologation regulations and that 150 were destined for the U.K I await to be hounded as a herratic and flailed in boiling chain oil :o |
uuuuuh god, i see this as the modern mans 996r vote.:lol: |
hard to knock a bike that is now £500 more new than when first released:D. i think my blood would boil if i paid £20k for a bike to find new for £15-16k.;) |
I think you are under some sort of illusion if you think your bike is worth more now than when it was new!.............ask those that have sold theirs.....electricsheep! even that one owned by Chris walker for.......800 miles... |
how that work a.b? 04 749r new £13500..05 749r new £14000. thats £500.? 03 999r £20k then 04 999r £15-16k:P |
I thought they had to make 1000... |
If your on about buying a new model....then i dont think there are many 999r owners that paid anywhere near the full 30000 euros price. With the 749r, the mere fact it was at that price from the start means people are going to "afford" that one as apposed to a 999s.....plus it was cheaper ins etc etc.theres no comparison in that. The comparison is in the used prices and as a percentage I would guess its around the same................ |

SORRY guys .... all I asked was how many were made, not the value or how much they are or not desired. Didn't mean to start an argument off. |
Yeah your right! this is just what the 996r lot wanted! trouble is, next youll be asking how many are in the club?............:lol: [Edited on 17-1-2006 by andyb] |
I was informed that originally 500 were made for homologation purposes which all sold or ordered by delaers immediately so they made another 100, this being the reason there were still a few new ones knocking about in dealers until recently. My dealer and a couple of press articles that I read stated that Ducati actually lost money on the 749R when they released it at £13500 as it cost them £200 for every bike sold, probably lost quite a bit more with any that were discounted to 'get rid of' although Khu996 still found that big discounts were not being offered when he got his ( Have you got it yet ?) This is probably why they have downgraded the specification for the 05 models to recoup some of there losses.( Looks like it did not help ! ) |
But really did we ever get to the bottom of how many of us have a 998R...............................:sing::devil: |
