Anyone ever heard of Q-tec shock absorbers?
What are they like?

Theres nowt on the net bout them? Just a mention on a RD forum?

I may be wrong, but I think they were originally the EMC shocks, either the bottom or mid range ones. That side of the company was driven by Mike Capon who I last saw on the SP Racing stand at the Ally Pally a few years ago. I had them custom build one of there top of the range ones for my FJ1200 that I had put a single sided arm in.
M&P were selling Q-Tec in 98/99 when they then cost £215 Non pressurised shock a bit like a lot of the Spax shocks.
They concentrated a lot on matching the ratio of the rebound damping adjustment to the compression damping

How similar is the one you got to these.

In 1994 I fitted an EMC shock to my VFR750. It really improved the handling no end - well worth the money I paid. I'd buy another if I needed to.

Just got it in the post this morning. I'm very happy with the build quality and it seems a quality item. the ally bits shine no-end! Just got to get it fitted now...

WOW - that looks nice and almost brand new....

No ride height adjustment though :(

Oi! it is brand new, albeit probably a couple of years old...

Not really looking forward to fitting it... looks like more than a 1 man job...
Anyone ever done this on the Ducati? Ive changed the whole back end on my rgv on my own before...

LOL - sorry - but u did mention the dreaded FleaBay ;)

Not too bad to change really - I slackened the bolts with the bike still on a paddock stand and then removed the seat / side panels etc before suspending the back end of the from the roof of my garage using two big cargo straps.

Chock the back wheel up take the sag out of the shox and it shouldnt be too bad to replace.

Only joking... I'll give it a shot, I dont like the sound of having to adjust it and test, adjust and test to get it right, tho...
