Dd 2014

Started stripping the little girl down today, a few mods to be made to improve fixings etc. engine refresh to see how she looks after running her on a skinny synthetic and first purchase of suspension upgades. :)

Hopefully get her built back up a little earlier than I did this year.

Let me guess, Ohlins shock for the rear and possible fork internal upgrades :)

Dumping the Airbox and fitting a 916 tank possibly :)

So far my 2014 pre season prep has had more to do with emails and rule writing
But popped around Andy's (Banger San's) earlier today and borrowed his 2 into 1 conversion so I can see about getting one made for my 2014 bike

Would that fit mine?

Steve if you are talking about the exhaust it should do, it mates up with the standard rear header and you just need to cut the front down pipe at the right point. Outlet wise mine is matched up to an early R6 Akraprovic but easily changed or could use a small link pipe.

How are you heeling?

mat2hew 21-Oct-2013 13:33

I ain't doin' nuffingk.

(except fixing some broken bits)

Chaz 21-Oct-2013 18:49

Not sure it will Steve as your swingarm, suspension linkage, shock position and Rocker mount are all different and I think the rear header is slightly different.

skidlids 21-Oct-2013 22:21

Speaking of Exhausts Dallas's 2014 DD bike is away having a custom exhaust system made, well a couple actually one in Inconel again and a spare in that cheaper titanium stuff. Then when it returns I have to get my hands on it to build a custom wiring loom.
His forks are already back complete with with new piston kits and Springs

The way he's going I think he would like to see a 145kg minimum bike weight for Class A :)

I always make sure it's clean for the start of a new season..........

It usually needs a complete rebuild anyway... or a new bike...

I rode the wife's bike on Saturday, I can't find the throttle stop yet, and I'm still too weak on the brakes. Movement and strength are returning though, and hopefully they will improve further when the metal work comes out in November.

Spjallen 23-Oct-2013 09:46

So are you racing next year?

milesaway 23-Oct-2013 22:46

add a couple of hundred quid to what it will cost me and I could do one of those 4-day overseas trackdays

also wed eve load up- all day thu drive- fri/sat/sun track- all day mon drive- tue morn unload bike/load work tools= 3.5 days off work= over £400

really hope they do find the 9th round to drop 1

Yep, I may even consider doing Knockhill myself (supercup). Got to be worth the trip to watch everyone not know where they are going  , apart from Steve Mason that is. :D

Can do that at Croft too!

Spjallen 04-Nov-2013 21:11

Knock hill is a brilliant idea and so is croft! Nice to go somewhere different that isnt the same old same old. Can we go to Scarbourgh and assen too?

badgerpilot 07-Nov-2013 14:30

Taffys conquered and now sweaty socks to be invaded in 2014! We're a proper international series.

Let's go tear up the cheese eating surrender monkeys, clog hoppers, hairy armpit pasta puffs, goosesteppers, septic tanks, kanga bangas, bull dodgers and choccy munchers too!

Roots firmly planted in good old Blighty though!

vespa 07-Nov-2013 18:25

What are you on Scott?

Spjallen 08-Nov-2013 13:16

I see that today the championship has increased to nine rounds with an option to drop a round.

Which DD rule book did you read that in

Spjallen 08-Nov-2013 19:56

I didn't Kev. I read it in one of the recent hottrax FB posts. Is this not the case for us then?

skidlids 08-Nov-2013 20:05

A short while back we changed the DD rules so that all rounds counted towards the Championship.
If we are to Alter the rule again why only be allowed to drop Knockhill or Pembrey, some may prefer to drop Anglesey or Brands depending on where they are located, or maybe some other round to fit around a family holiday or other reason

that makes even more sense!!- I wondered why hottrax were making it a choice of only those 2- are the double points at croft only for their chamionships too?

Spjallen 08-Nov-2013 20:25

Thanks Kev. That clarified it for me.
