1998 & 99 CB500 Practice/Qualifying/Results sheets I've scanned in all the timing sheets I can find for 1998 & 99. The era of... James Ellison (GP's/BSB/Endurance), Chris Firmin (Minitwins & MRO Powerbikes), Dennis Hobbs (BSB), Richard Cooper (BMW Cup), John Kirkham (BSB) ...and other more normal riders like myself :) CLICK HERE FOR THE SHEETS I'm sure I have more somewhere! I hope you enjoy looking through them. |
I daren't ask, but what happened?:puzzled: |
amazing really... Hero to Zero in a few years. |
The older you get the faster you were:P Ray. |
It's amazing what happens when you discover beer! |
Now if he can just stay away from Multistradas this year ;) - then who knows DD champ in the making. |
So we are not all the same kind of novice in DD  |
I ran out of money, my bike shop closed, I went bankrupt, I got screwed around a lot and I spent 5 years in the wilderness running around trying desperately to go racing again... you have been warned!! Now you can understand why I thought I would win races in DD. I spent 2 years in National championships and my worst finish was 10th - In a race I was leading on the last but one lap! (my bike just cut out for no reason) I'm still convinced that I can win DD races ;) [Edited on 9-2-2006 by domski] |
no you won't. Or at least not in my class :flame:  |
Well looking at that lot you better get your Little Yellow Clad Arse up at the front and win the ****ing thing this year then. O and just walk in and get that ****ing job on friday. :frog: |

No mention of building your website - phew!!:lol::lol: |
1998 Dom, a lot of things have changed and moved on. whatever percentage of riders and bikers were in the population has increased 10 fold.... the percentage doing Trackdays and racing has increased by the same amount. No one is doubting your past history.... but you're older, wiser, bigger, and at the end of the day, more scared of throwing it to the floor. |

I've always been scared of throwing it to the floor - It hurts!! |

On the right bike m8..as u seem to have this year thanks to Chass..im sure you will............................... :ninja: Phil |
Got to catch that Geoff bloke first!! |
You'll all have to keep up with him if you want to see his lines.............from the sidelines I can tell you his secret-he's VERY smooth. John |
I think that's the key for being a fast rider. Being smooth, not battling against the bike. Just not like me  |
Well .. Bayliss doesn't exactly look smooth to me!!!! And I reckon he got around Cadwell ok. So it takes all types but I agree that smooth helps the bike out more. I'm trying to smooth out my riding but when you're my size it makes it a little more difficult. Especially when you're someone who tends to brake late and hard naturally. |

Is that his legs or chest? :P  |
There is a bit of a secret to riding Ducati's. I know I'd be faster on a 4 cylinder Jap bike. Once I unlock the 'secret' I'll be nipping at his heals (I may have to lose 4 stone as well though) We'll see. One thing is for sure, I bet Geoff loves all this  |
