What are you doing?

So what are your plans biking wise this year?

Last year was pretty extreme for me, from getting the new bike at the start of the year, to racing, to crashing, to track days in Spain! This year is hopefully going to be a little more sedate.

Hoping to maybe do some easy touring either abroad or Scotland. Maybe do a few more meet ups with friends on great roads.

Obviously still planning on as many trackdays as possible, although this year may venture up north to Knockhill and Croft for a bit of variety.

So what about you?

NBs996 16-Feb-2006 00:07

This year will be much the same as last. Keep the road bike nice n warm in the lounge whilst raggin' the monster round some tracks. Although I plan to take the 996 to Donny in the summer to see how different it is to the 620.

Next year however...... plans for my biking life are to undergo some drastic change, since road riding is getting pretty boring (wrong word, but too stupid to think of the right one)! Can't reveal too much cos i'll be thinking different tomorrow no doubt, but the 996 will no longer have a headlight ;)

Would love to get overseas for a week-long track bash!

France on the bike (for a change)

Mavs Ring trip.

Couple of track days & CSS;)

Possibly Morocco on the KTM

Off roading for 5 days to the Hebrides and back.

Some rideouts with the local wasters:frog:

Last day of RTL if i get back from jollys in time.

And wouldn't mind a road bike trip to Bonny Scotland as well.

Gonna do Europe on the bike this year !

Go to Assen MotoGP on the bike with Scottch & the Rave Meister hopefully.

This year I intend at least 1 France trip maybe down to Italy, am toying with the idea of going on the 996r instead of the old Multi! I know it will be more painful but should be worth it. I also intend to do a few trackdays as again I fancy getting more use out of the R.

The more I look at Scotland the more I fancy a few weekend trips up there, I do sometimes make it on a Sunday ride out but only just to the area around Kileder etc. Would like to get up to some of the places Gizmo and some of the Scots boys talk about.

Also fancy a few mid week Wales trips. Thinking of midweek for quieter roads etc.

Also half planning a trip down to the Algarve late summer, well two actually! Idea is to ride down and meet the girlfriend and kids there for a quick break and fly back with them leaving the bike there. Then the following month fly back down and ride the bike back. That should be a good un if I can get away with it!

Basically this year I intend to make more time to use both bikes.

what you need to do is borrow a van, drop your bike up here then whizz up for weekends and ride on some great roads and tracks :)

I'll do the hospitality if you can entertain the boss :)

Also hope to get a ride in Desmo due ( must send off for license:o)

Whose bike are you riding in DD and have you raced before?

I would love to borrow a bike for a DD round but given my racing history I doubt anyone would lend me one and I am banned from racing anyway :(

Lily 16-Feb-2006 23:17

Ian

What is wrong with your health??

Given the amount of alcohol, fags and kebabs you get through it can't be anything serious

you wanna give up some of those expensive habits and save up for more track days :)

Well, for me, do as many trackdays on the 'blue missile' at different tracks such as Oulton, Brands, Silverstone, etc.

Get some prep in for my DD plans in 2007.

Ride the Duke more on the roads this summer, except for Cadwell !!

Work hard & Enjoy Life !!!!

definitely Europe as I have done it in the car, fancy a couple of WSB rounds plus need to see Colditz & Millau bridge.

Need to travel mid wales as its about the only part of the country I hardly know.

Also fancy ride upto liverpool, ferry to NI, ride down through pick up ferry back to Fishguard.

Going to be mainly weekend stuff as Im already skiing without the wife.

Nattyboy 17-Feb-2006 00:18

Raid the lakes on the s4r as that sounds great, and some other touring jiggereypokery, but mainly caning my new track bike within an inch of its life as much as I possibly can (and FINALLY get my backside upto oulton as ive never been!).

Also really looking forward to arranging a 851/888 gathering at a track day (even johnny hacketts interested...:D) to blow the cobwebs off the old girls and show some johnny come lately rice burner riders what an 11 year old v twin is capable of :D

Finish off with a sprinkling of rideouts to meet some more of you guys, and the DRE master racing course at Imola in September hopefully !

Yes I will, I really need to make more use out of both bikes this year and to stop putting trips off and saying I will do it next year. Likewise if you and Jon fancy a ride this way youre more than welcome. You would love my route from here to Hartside. In fact I was going to mention re RTL if anyone coming up from south of where I live fancies it I can guide you all up a scenic route that takes in the top biking routes. Beats going up the motorway but just means an earlier start to get to the lakes in time.
