Senna3 20-Feb-2006 19:09

Currently logged on Senna3's pc as I have just used it to book us both in, Senna3 in the inters (needs to run in his Desmo Due bike) and I've booked the Advance and hope to take the 996 and the DD bike.
6 places available when I booked so the numbers don't seem to mean much

Chris Wood 20-Feb-2006 19:12

Mallory on the 11th and Silverstone on the 12th ....now theres an idea!!!

I'm meant to be doing a 1/2 Marathon on the 12th but might just change that now!

Nattyboy 20-Feb-2006 19:20

skidlids 20-Feb-2006 20:15

Was going to book Dallas in as well but he's not going to be back from Seattle in time, Senna is letting another mate know tomorrow to see if he's going to come along,
I hpe to do a few laps on the DD bike to check all is OK then play on the 996

deej 20-Feb-2006 23:31

i'll be in the intermiadetes with a mate on a 650 daytona, have been silverstone before so might be able to help you out a little bit andy. buy forza motorsport on the xbox for a quick idea of the place.

natty boy it will be good to meet you and see your famous trackbike, would also be good if rich made it up so he can see how my little 853 goes after the work him and chris have done on it

shall we have a dsc garage or just meet up on track

Chris Wood 21-Feb-2006 02:20

I'll book today...

Great WIDE track....

Andy, you'll love it...

VERY FAST!!!

andys 900ss 21-Feb-2006 11:41

Thanks guys.

It'd be nice for a DSC garage, if your up for it. Tell me how to recognise you guys, I'll be in a red car pulling a trailer with the Blue R1 on, you can't miss the bike, its No 46! Gauloises.

Andy

skidlids 21-Feb-2006 11:47

Also I will have my old VW LT35 van with me

Harv748 21-Feb-2006 11:52

Gutted...can't make this one.

Got a family dooo over that weekend...family 'eh...who needs 'em?

skidlids 21-Feb-2006 11:57

Harv748 21-Feb-2006 11:58

marchesini 21-Feb-2006 13:16

I\'m in ....

Natty gave me the heads up on this so just booked today in the inters. Is anybody staying in the area on saturday night - recommendations?

Skidlids, don't think I've had the pleasure but I think I'll be there on an old friend of yours - Old Yella's 748. Did belong to you in a previous life if I'm not mistaken? Looks a bit different now though - maybe you'll be able to tell me bit of it's history.

See you there.

Laters

simon

skidlids 21-Feb-2006 13:57

Yep Simon, the 748 was mine and has done Silverstone GP back in Sept 2004, but be careful a month later it was racing on the Club circuit and may want to turn right rather than head off down Hanger straight.

deej 21-Feb-2006 19:39

im going to try and stay in the travelodge just up the road from silverstone as i cant be arsed to camp this time of year, only problem is that we wont be leaving cornwall until 5.30 on the saturday night after my mate finishes work, might make last orders fingers crossed

harv shame your not going, you wont beleive your old bike now, fitted a power commander and had it dynoed 107.2 bhp, 3 more than the sigma 853, well chuffed now !!!

andy, did you do the trackday at donington in september the day after british superbikes, there was a guy there on a gauloises r1

may is uggest a garage down the bottom of the paddock, should be easier to find space then

andys 900ss 22-Feb-2006 00:04

Hi Deej,

Garage down the bottom of paddock sounds good to me, what numbers are they that end?

I wasn't at Donni the day after SBK, I should've been as my mate did it and for some reason I couldn't make it.

Andy

Chris Wood 22-Feb-2006 21:53

Booked up today in Fast group...

Mallory Sat / Silves Sun....Nice weekend.

I'll have #10 DD bike in red and red/blue 748RS.

White VAN - With MERRY PRINTERS written all over it!

So by 'bottom of the paddock' do you mean closer to the first turn, ie turn right as you enter the paddock and go to the end?

[Edited on 22-2-2006 by Chris Wood]

deej 22-Feb-2006 22:53

yeah down the bottom near the first turn, number 20 or something like that, everyone seems to park at the top/middle so theyre close to the action but if were out the way we can all have our own little gathering

i'll look out for the van, maybe in a van by then or maybe in my seat cordoba with trailer

should be good, starting to look forward it now

deej 23-Feb-2006 00:31

i think it was a wise choice for me to go intermiadetes, i thought there would be too many racers in the fast group, pre season practice and all that

weve booked up to stay in the travelodge just outside milton keynes, £26 for the night.

skidlids 23-Feb-2006 02:57

Silverstones only 30 miles up the road so will travel up from home on the day, which shouldn't take long on a Sunday

deej 24-Feb-2006 19:32

i'd have to leave at 2.30am at the latest to be at silverstone for a 7.30 sign on. £26 for a travelodge is a good deal for me kev.

i get my van tomorrow so you should at least be able to recognise where i am in the paddock/garages

Any more room at the inn?

Could you put up the address and phone number of this travelodge as £26 doesn't sound too bad for me either. Really not a fan of the early morning travel - always really stressful wondering if I'm going to get there in time.

Thanks

simon

deej 25-Feb-2006 18:59

yeah mate

its www.travelodge.co.uk and its the stafford lodge were in i think, type in silverstone as the location and it will give you the 5 nearest options, dont look at towcester as their clever and left that 1 at £55 but the 2nd nearest 1 is only £26 and its just outside milton keynes which is only 9miles from silverstone.

see you there ???

Yep on Sat/Sun swap between RS and DD....

First time out since full rebuild....eeeekkkk!:o

Lookinf forward to it, bring on the warm dry weather...

andyb 28-Feb-2006 19:45

There is a travel lodge 1/2 a mile from junc 15a towards Northampton near to mc ds pizza hut etc etc...........bet thats quite cheap! then its straight on to the A43 8 miles to Silverstone!

deej 02-Mar-2006 20:41

The only cheap one was the one at stafford near milton keynes

weeksy2 02-Mar-2006 21:18

hey Deej, i must owe you after swiping that fairing from under your nose. If you want to borrow the trackday stuff i won, shout me and it's yours. I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow before i go away, if not, i could arrange ffor you to collect from my work..

Do you know how secure the car park is?

My bike is just tied onto a trailer which could (in theory) just be unhooked and stolen. Used to use a van so it wasn't really a problem but only done day trips with the trailer so a bit concerned for security reasons. Perhaps I could get a chain and tie the whole trailer round a lampost and the front wheel of the bike? Getting slightly paranoid now?

Thanks all

simon

skidlids 02-Mar-2006 21:41

Have you tried this one, just off junction 10 off the M40, i'd say its about 12 or so miles from the circuit.

cheers for the offer weeksy but i'd hate to borrow it and then damaged it some more, we should have emiled each other with our highest price then let that person win, could have saved you £25 then. maybe a idea for the future

i got sniped on the other auction, was top bidder at £89 with 45 seconds to go and it sold for £135 with 9 seconds left. getting pee'd off with ebay now

I noticed mate.. i kept on watching the other one too.

Have you seen how fooked the one i bought is ? you couldn't make it any worse... if you do, either fix it or buy from me for the £70 i paid for it all.

skidlids 02-Mar-2006 23:03

You caan get new replica fairings on Ebay for £105 plus postage, the postage is very reasonable being as they have to come from Germany and its a quick service if you use Paypal

weeksy2 02-Mar-2006 23:07

yup but they are FG mate... mine are standard plastics... i prefer this from a 'fitting' perspective... i've yet to see a cheap FG fairing that goes on easily and 'well'
