The bezels are the problem around the glass.

rockhopper 25-Feb-2006 17:42

You literally have to cut the clock open to change the dial.

I so very nearly bought off ebay too - but how in the name of feck do you change the dials?

I mean, by nature the tachograph etc are protected to prevent "clocking" so how on earth does a 'mere mortal' gain access to the counters?

Can someone do a write up on how its done / :)

rockhopper 26-Feb-2006 12:03

Like i said, you have to cut the case open then seal it up again with tape.

Like Rockhopper says, you have to cut the clock casings open.
Use a hacksaw blade (junior) and cut around the full perimter of the clock bezel, about 10mm below the glass. You need to get this as straight and square as possible as you've got to glue the bezel back together along this line.
you have only got to cut the plastic. Go too deep and you'll cut into the clock mechanisms.
Once the you've cut the clocks open, remove the needles, noting their positions and swap the faces over.
Then you need to replace the needles, exactly as if you get it wrong they will read wrong, and then glue the bezel back together with PVC glue or such like. Wrap the joint in black insulation tape as neatly as possible to seal the joint. If it doesn't seal, you'll get condensation inside the glass.
I've done two sets. Took about 3 hours..........................
It's doable, but it's a lot of fiddly work. You've really got to want to this ;)
If you want a set of yellow ones, i've got some. Bought them for my own bike and have never fitted them.
