Not sure if the speedo is correct as i'd expect the scenery and vehicles coming the other way to be flashing by a lot quicker considering the speed but...............

Blimey - that looks just like the road out of St Pons de Thomiere - heading towards Beziers/Sete!:o
Particularly that tightening left hander!

and thats a lovely road as well, i've stayed in St Chinnain a few times and Beziers is a good night out.

keefer 27-Feb-2006 18:31

its in KPH
but its pretty quick in places.
made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I must be getting old

TP 27-Feb-2006 18:34

Yeah it's in kph but even so, he was passing cars at well over 200kph and it just looked like normal traffic. Things come past at a great rate of knots when you're doing those speeds!!!

I reckon the speedy is WAY optimistic.

yorkie 27-Feb-2006 18:36

I like that a lot!! Nice and fast and smooth!!

Yorkie.

Rattler 27-Feb-2006 18:49

I reckon a gearing change has thrown the speedo out - almost 300kmh - 180mph!!!! - a bit too ambitious - looked good though.

Surely not Keith?? You ride like that all the time, don't you?

:D:D:D

Is that bit where the speedo comes up so you can't see the road the rider doing a wheelie? I've never done one and I won't be starting at this stage in life (except over the mountain, of course!) :P:P

Mr C 27-Feb-2006 19:14

He'd have no chance if a large Pigeon landed on the road infront of him at that speed!!

Do you ever get that when watching the TT vids showing on the on board footage?

I do. It seems to hit my in built alarm system.

keefer 27-Feb-2006 20:02

I think it was the amount of road he was using was making me think
"he's not leaving much room for error"
its been along winter I need to get back out there soon

AK 27-Feb-2006 20:47

Lots of roads quite similar to that in the South of france (aint there BDG?:D ) - some great ones from St P- d- T to Carcassonne too:roll:

Might get a trip up later in the year - as one of my bruvs lives there, only an hour (or less:devil: ) from the sea too:D

ali 27-Feb-2006 21:06

A lot of the time the optomistic speeds are when he's cranked over. Not sure how the speedo works on the ZX10 but it could be being affected by the smaller rolling radius.

Makes me want a ZX10 very badly, thankfully I was born with enough grey cells to know that would be the beginning of the end......

count me in on that one!!!
"Jimmy" Gixxer is nearly ready to play;)

Anyway as for the Video, speed seemed around the 130's to maybe 150's in places

good smooth ride but i think he may have over cooked it in some corners (too wide) unless it was is back yard;)
