Why was the tyre thread deleted?

When I last saw it there seemed to be some good debate going on there.:puzzled:

...and some relevant questions being asked.

I can't dude - not at work. Would get me sacked. Later, eh?

weeksy2 03-Mar-2006 11:18

sure mate, i'll be about this evening about 11pm.

Rattler 03-Mar-2006 11:24

Why do people outside of the DD care so much about what goes on inside DD?

I understand the interest etc, but it all seems to be going a bit too far.

Its great to have outside interest, but it seems that there's too many cooks............

I think you'll find that YOU couldn't understand it, but still persisted to carry on down the arguement with you eyes shut and fingers in your ears shouting "Blablablablablablablabla" and never actually reading anything that was said.

yeah there's enough c.o.c.k.s in DD already!

oh sorry you said cooks :o

well said anyway.

weeksy2 03-Mar-2006 11:32

without getting into a ****ging match mate...

it's our series as much as it's yours.

I was actually on the way to St Neots this weekend to buy a 620i Monster until i had a chat with Monty and Ian last night via email. Now i'm not. It was deal done for the monster on another site.

Just because people are not involved in DD right here right now, doesn't mean they won't be.

It's a DSC series, for DSC, and by DSC. I'm a DSC member and obviously an active poster on the board, therefore, i see it as my right to get involved.

I can also see why you have issues with this, which is why on the other thread i said 'scrap the DD section and take somewhere else'

multi600 03-Mar-2006 11:33

How do we vote on the new tyre options when we can't talk about it between ourselves. We should have been given all the options in the tyre vote and told the implications. It's a naff voting choice a bit like the one done for 'should Cadwell be points scoring or not' you just can't win sometimes

Mike

Ray 03-Mar-2006 11:38

Lord R,

May I humbly suggest that DD has upsides and downsides to the Club as a whole, hence the interest by non racers who are paid up DSC members.

If you require further elaboration please ask a member of your household to make contact via the jolly spiffing U2U feature,

Ray.

steve, with all due respect, if anyone is not actually racing in the series surely you can see that those that are, have a far greater vested interest and therefore input?

Why not put yourself forward as a riders rep Steve ?

sure fella.... of course.... maybe it wasn't the best phrase...

you have a greater interest... but that doesn't mean the rest of DSC should have or do have none at all.....

i was under the impression and logic that the riders rep should be a 'rider' in the series in my opinion.

Like said by Dickie, they have a greater interest.

However. I will put myself forward as if i remove the 'attitude' i think i would be able to offer a reasonable thought on certain things at times.

email on way.

twpd 03-Mar-2006 11:48

I'm asking a question. I'm not cooking. I've got an interest in the series for a number of reasons...one being I wouldn't mind competing in it but, right now it doesn't fit in with my racing plans...doesn't mean I can't take an active part in any discussions, does it?

As mentioned above, it all got out of hand, and the buns were being thrown, the toys came out of the pram, and everyone got a bit heated. I'll put it back up, with some posts edited or removed. When I get chance today.

couchcommando 03-Mar-2006 12:00

I don't know why my thread was deleted as I wasn't on much in recent weeks. I guess the question was ok but then as usual it went down hill from there.
My question ahs been answered and the answer was what I wanted to hear :)

Mark 03-Mar-2006 12:04

Couch, As I said, I'll put it back up, the inital thread is fine, just the locals getting a bit over excited last night. They don't get out much. Bless them.

I heard, the best way to get over this is to pack the computer away, buy a baseball cap and sunnies, and go for a walk in the park....

twpd 03-Mar-2006 12:12

Fair play Flanks. It's a shame people can't discuss matters rationally without it descending into a shouting match.

Wrong, its a sunny day so I'm just about to get the 996 out of the garage and go for a spin as I don't have to be at work until 4pm :D

domski 03-Mar-2006 12:22

I could go and sit in the garage I suppose.

That's almost outside - could even open the door a bit :eureka:

twpd 03-Mar-2006 12:22

Ummmmm....... you have a point...much as it pains me to admit.

You'll never race in DD all the time you've got a hole in your arse!!!!! ;)

You just like to get involved, which is fine, but what got me was that two people (one of whom is not a member) were debating where a thread went that didn't directly relate to them.

My view is, that there's been so much crap on here recently regarding DD (from both racers and non-racers) that I've had enough of it.

Perhaps that means nothing to you, but it means a lot to me.

Its time for a seperate, private DSC board, if you're a member you can sign on - if not, join.

Too much crap, too much ****.

Tim

keefer 03-Mar-2006 13:40

I have never debated about DD and I don't ever want to get involved or take part
it sucks and creates to much squabbling

So why post now? You're just adding to the issue.

couchcommando 03-Mar-2006 13:43

I thought most on here were DSC members. Not sure about private forums, open ones are good as prospective members can read them too so maybe have one where only DSC members can post ?

domski 03-Mar-2006 13:46

You'd need a forum which requires members to be approved by a webmaster, and only approved members can read posts - that can be done easily. I could set it all up in under an hour.

I thought that just before I pressed the post button.
but im sure I wont be the first, you DD boys do it every day

Rattler 03-Mar-2006 13:58

My final viewpoint on this is that this board can be (and is) read by DD sponsors and potential DD sponsors who may not wish to have their products or services debated openly.

As I understand it, some of the DD riders are now having to put in additional resources (both financial and time) because of a sponsor's changed viewpoint which is directly due to negative comments made on this board.

This cannot be a good thing.

The DD series is a DSC series and we all as DSC members (and posting non-members) have a responsibility to the series. If you don't feel that you want to support the series, then don't, its fine, but don't get involved in a negative way. Why would you?

Negative comments, directly or indirectly about any of the sponsors (or their products) can have a negative affect on the riders and not only do they not support the best interests of the riders, can actually be measured financially.

Tim

Chris Wood 03-Mar-2006 14:04

Here endeth the listen.....

Well said Tim, common sense may yet prevail....

Can we go race yet?

And next year, and next year and the year after that too please!!!

I may have to run a DD at Phillip Island though, any takers? Oooohh No, too far, too expensive, too hot/wet/cold/early/late:D

Paul James 03-Mar-2006 14:28
