Rear Hugger 900ssi Does anybody know where I can get a rear hugger to replace the big ugly thing currently on my 900ssi? Ideally I want something that is not as big and does not cover either side of the wheel therefore more like a conventional rear hugger! Am I making any sense??? Regards Frazelli |

The newer Supersports have a much smaller standard rear hugger. I owned a 1999 750ss, which had the big old rear hugger. I bought a carbon replacement, but it was nearly was big anyway. I now own a 2002 900ss and the OEM rear hugger is much smaller. A lot of road crap does get flicked up onto the pillion seat though. Have a search through eBay or similar for the hugger from a 2002 or newer SS perhaps. |
It is big, but it does a fantastic job of keeping the crap off. |
Thanks chaps for the info TWPD - Just ordered one from the link you detailed!! Regards Frazelli |
Let me know how you get on pls. I fancy one but, I'm not sure about blowing that much dosh on one just yet - ur the guinea pig! |
OK will let you know |
I've now fitted this hugger and looks pretty good. The quality of the carbon is very good and fits really well, the only down side for me I suppose is that although smaller than standard it is still pretty big and I really wanted something quite a bit smaller than the standard hugger. Do you mean like this: Trimmed Hugger or this in carbon: Carbon Shortie The OEM hugger cuts nicely and with a heat gun you can finish and tweak the trailing edge for some added detail. I sourced the carbon bit from www.valenceusa.com, a Ferrari supplier who are slow to move and pricey, but the product is top notch! [Edited on 26-4-2006 by Nick D.] |
