NON DUCATI OWNERS ON THIS FORUM following on from 748IOM about non ducati owners on this forum. i just wondered how many people are on here and what do they own currently? why do they still frequent a ducati site? do they still hanker, after a duke and if so which model? :puzzled: |
i for one am a none duke owner who rides a zx10r 2005 in black i still go to as many regional meetings as i possibly can and i enjoy the banter and pee taking that i expect to recieve for having my bike there. i also expect to take part in as many things as possible during this year as work will allow. onto the bike i had this after a 748r and a 999(which died in a big off) it was a riot when i test rode this bike so thats what pursuaded me to purchase.i will own another ducati but at the moment the only model i would like to own would be another `r` as i like the more sporty nature whether that be a 996,998 or 999.but funds do not allow at this precise moment. |
I've just sold my 996S and brought a 04 Fireblade and in the process of selling my S4r (don't want to sell it really but can't afford to keep it as an ornament, I'll get the Minichamp model when it's released :) ). Still a member of the DSC as I've met some great people here and some have become very good friends over the past 6 years that I've owned Dukes :D Darren Ps will probably be back on a Duke in a couple of years too  |
I have a Yammy Fazer 600 which I bought last september. I joined this forum a few years back now when I was going to return to biking and almost bought Ians 900SL. The return did not happen but I continued on here and the Yammy is my stepping stone to a Ducati. I am pretty certain that it will be a 748BP......... |
Got a ZX7R now after my 748, been on here for a long time met some luvverly people  And they still let me go on rideouts  still looking at getting another Duke , seen a nice 800sport but worried it might be a bit underpowered compared to my 748 :rolleye: not a member anymore still here cause no ones told me to b****r off yet  [Edited on 23-3-2006 by Nigel C] |
Bugger off the lot of ya! Oh that includes me then..... |

The 800 is a different riding experience. Not as fast as a 748 by a long way but, it's a very sweet, responsive and grunty engine. You won't be disappointed specially if you tweak it with pipes, open airbox and a Power Commander. |
I've only got Ducatis - I'm lucky enough to own two now, but only through a lot of scrimping and saving (even now I've only really got one Ducati because I haven't got around to getting the ST serviced yet and it's WAY overdue some belts). But I don't mind people who own other bikes chipping in here at all, after all, we all love two wheels and if I couldn't have a Duke for whatever reason then even a Honda CG125 would be better than no bike at all (I think  ) We've had loads of people join BHC rideouts on Gixers, Milles, R1's, VTR's, Vifers and kawasakis and as far as I'm concerned they're all very welcome. Mind you, we've ridden thousands of miles on BHC rideouts, most of them very safe, but of course we've had one or two inevitable spills. Strangely we've only had 1 Duke go down in the twisties compared to 3 non-Dukes. Coincidence? Of course, anybody joining a rideout organised by a Ducati club (and therefore chock full of Dukes) on anything else has to be prepared to take a bit of banter - but what else would you expect? Same goes for joining in on a Ducati related site. [Edited on 23-3-2006 by Jools] |
came on here a few years ago, got me a 996 Bip which i restored, sold it, as it was not a practical bike to just nip out and do 3000 + miles on in a week around Europe:roll: still hang out around Dukes, and service 4/5 of my mates, They help to keep me in Business:) met some great folks on here and some complete NOB heads:devil: all in all I would like a 888 to go down the pub on ! But I never get chance to go down the pub anymore:puzzled: current bike is a Hybrid Gixxer 750 that i have built from a basket case over the winter:puzzled: For Me the Best all rounder bike on the road! :burn::burn::burn::burn: |
Have owned Dukes for 4 years now and am currently fettling a 996, however, I do occassionally turn up at meets on a VFR800, or a Fireblade - and get ragged - and from next month a rather splendid new Speed Triple :D Wouldn't be without the banter that is a DSC meet. Wouldn't be without a Ducati either just like to have other bikes to ride too ;) [Edited on 23-3-2006 by Henners] |
Got an old 916 which i use as a bit of a hack really, it gets used in all weather and i find it suits my needs really well funnily enough. its just quick enough and is now quite comfy. cant see me parting with it, would rather run it into the ground However i still am jap through and through, i love my honda V4's in NC/RC30 shape (not that odd firing 750/800 thing) and love my jap market only raritys |
Well the wife has an SV650 and I got a 996 bip. I realy don't see the problem with non Ducati owners using this site ! At the end of the day we are all on 2 wheels and have a passion for bikes. So for all you stuck up tossers that have a go at non duke owners GET OVER IT. Age |
The wife's got a Honda RVF400, I've got a Foggy rep & a Bayliss rep! I think non-Duke owners should be hung,drawn & quarterd!!!:D:D:D |

That's a bit harsh. I don't think anyone's had a go at the owners, just their bikes ;) |

Is Henners trying to own 1 bike from each manufacture at the same time ?? Ok so perhaps it's time to put bets on which bike he will sell first :lol: |
Might be Age - with a twin (996) a triple (1055 ST) and a four (Fireblade) that leaves room for a nice single - Desmo 450 anyone ? :eureka: |
