First Ride

Hi , got out for the first ride of the year on Saturday, into Bristol and surrounding area, is it me or have the roads gone totally to pot, there are pot holes everywhere, loose gravel and those special ruts gouged out especially for bikes, I think its pretty bad considering the amount of taxes we pay, whats it like in other areas?:flame:

Probably worse!!!!

I did Cheddar etc 2 weeks ago and the Burrington Coombe gorge was nice and smooth and Cheddar gorge wasnt to bad either but your right about most of the other good roads about. Riding the 999 you usually find out how bad they are when your nutts get a good crack from the tank! ouch!:puzzled:

yes the road from Failand down to the A370 was like a moto cross track:flame: Yes have ridden the Burrington Coombe/ Cheddar roads, like you say not too bad, should have gone that way on Sat

Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire roads are abismal at the moment. I am commuting from Grantham to Nottingham each day and I'm looking to see where the bad bits are for when my bike is on the road next week.

very bad in devon, has been get worse for the last 2 or 3 years, it's as if they don't even repair the holes any more, and that's why 4X4s are so poplar now,
I think it's to slow you down, not just manhole covers in the centre of the road on a bend but deep potholes and lines so deep you'd think they were lay lines,
I say give us the roads that we pay for, I have a clever speed'o in the car that give me the avenge speed, I live in a village and don't drive slow, it's all 60 mph or it used to be, now my best in car is 33 mph, this is what we pay so much for, and to think you will pay more to go on the motorways soon,
where's mine gun I cant take it any more,

Couple of roads here have gone downhill over winter. I sent a letter to Highways dept here and a couple have been sorted since which is nice. Some holes were ok for cars but on a bike they'd have caused serious probs.
