I might pop around to have a look, like last time. When I remember TP had an accident.. poor thing..

TP - ARE YOU OK NOW DAHLING? :D

webbyc 09-Apr-2006 08:30

Nice one and will look out for you down at Box.

SupraWoman 15-Apr-2006 17:56

I got my bike yesterday arrived :)

but.. went today for a bit of riding, well sort of tried to - and after 10-15 mins there was a white sort of smoke coming from the front - the area between petrol tank and steering thing..

anyone knows what that and why? :puzzled:
And its looks like I need some oil on chain and adjust the clutch leel which is too heavy for me.. but I need someone to help me with that and no one of my neighborougs ride bikes..

bummer.. :(

Dibble 15-Apr-2006 18:15

ignore the smoke/steam, that'll just be the various warm parts burning off whatever the factory smears them in for shipping, the clutch will be to start with as you have a full thickness clutch pack and none of the parts have loosened up ... as for the chain, they have probably used a clear wax ...

SupraWoman 15-Apr-2006 18:37

Dibble, thank you for replying - but this is not a brand new bike, its a second hand one - year 2004..

it does need some oil on chain, I just cant do it on my own..

as for smoke - i'll see what it will look like tomorrow.. its also sometimes wouldnt start straight away..

God.. I hate problems..

Dibble 15-Apr-2006 18:44

i'll be going through Redhill into and out of Box Hill tomorrow, let me know if you want me to stop by ...

keefer 15-Apr-2006 18:48

don't panic Supra. he's a good mechanic is Dibs.:eureka:

see you all at box hill

SupraWoman 15-Apr-2006 18:49

that would be dundee :D

if you could pop on your way to Boxhill please, as I really want to make it there too:burn:

I'll pm you the directions. Thanks a lot
:)

Dibble 15-Apr-2006 18:53

ok.... we are meeting at Westerham at 10

Twinfan 16-Apr-2006 12:54

The smoke is just steam - my 749S does this. If you're out in the rain or very wet roads, as the spray hits the radiator and other warm parts the steam comes up through the yokes.

"They all do that madam" ;)
