Yet again the viewing public get stuffed
 

Setting up the video to record the BSB this afternoon, I couldn't help noticing that ITV are only scheduling an hour of coverage for both races, pathetic!

Yet again we, the viewing public, are getting shafted. OK, so at least ITV have brought BSB to the masses on terrestial tv, but at what cost? Can any of you remember the heady days when Sky covered not only both superbike races LIVE, and the superstock and the R6 cup! Them were the days. Now all that Sky is showing today is the second race at 8 tonight - according to the skyview.

As if it's not bad enough, we now need to listen to Barry "Supergob" Nuttley drone on and on, totally ognoring his co-commentator's valued input.

I think we should all write to the ITV and tell them what a s**t job they are doing. I've started the ball rolling by writing to them at: dutyoffice@itv.com

Maybe if we all do the same they might listen? But somehow I doubt it. :mad::mad::mad:

I think there is full coverage tonight on sky sport 2 from 20.00 to 23.30.

That would be nice, shame they don't say that on the intro though. Re-reading it, it definately says coverage of race two. I guess they mean ROUND 2.

Why should they cover a minority sport like bike raceing when they can cater for the masses with sports like curling & games like darts,snooker & cards ffs I do mean games coz sport they ain't.

but those sports actually pull in far greater viewing figures, lets not forget ITV are commercial so no one is being shafted .. also BSB is on at prime time sunday TV so just doesnt warrant it ....

Although I've never watched it in Live and full coverage, I'm more than happy to be able to watch 1 hour of BSB later on today... Yesterday MotoGP, today BSB, I think that's brilliant as I only have 4 channels.

In France you must have Eurosport to watch the GP races.... :(

I think if you want to blame ITV, you'd better blame them for all their reality (crap) TV shows :lol:

At least someone's showing it this year... last year it was only on some really obscure channel...

Anything is better than nothing :)

I think it's good that itv are airing it on a sunday afternoon. Did i hear them say that thruxton will be a 2 hour program. The more that watch it the better. Nutley and Whitham!!! damn site better than Parrish and cox.

I remember, not so long ago posts on this site people whooping it up that ITV were going to show BSB this year and even people talking about cancelling their Sky subscription. What a bunch of Luddites if you want to watch a minority sport like this (and I do) then we should expect to pay for it. ITV can keep curling, poker, fishing and any other sh**te that people who watch ITV want.:flame:

I never watch MotoGP on BBC either even though it has the attraction of Suzy Perry, I cant stand Charlie Cox, wasnt he a failed BTCC driver ?

If Sky are showing the whole BSB program later, I will record it on my Sky+ and watch it later:D

I started watching the MotoGp on the beeb and I have to agree the commentary was awfull.After about four laps,I swithed over to Eurosport.And what is it about the beeb not showing the races widescreen?
Next up,the BSB.
My wife recorded the ITV show as I was out on a rideout.What can I say?The one hour show was utter rubbish.We have been spoilt in the past with Sky's mega coverage.Lets face it.BSB was shown on BBC2 and they fooked it,C4 fooked it,and now ITV.I guess with several Sky Sports channels available they have more space to put on a big show.I did watch some of Skys highlights show later in the evening and it felt like normal service had been resumed.
In a nutshell,
Want to watch MotoGP,WSB,Moto X,Trials? Watch it on Eurosport.
BSB,Speedway? Sky Sports.
AMA,Supermoto? Motors TV.

Oh yeah,forgot to mention,Sky is repeating all the BSB action today,(Mon 10th) on SS3 midday and SS2 6pm.

I agree with all of the above, ITV camera work and commentary is crap.............that Nuttley bloke doesn't even know who is on what bike.......how can he mention in one breath that Smart is in second place and then see someone go down in about 6h place on a Rizla S....i and then say to Witham was that Smart?
And that bird how irritating is she??

Back to Moto GP on Eurosport.............top guys who know their stuff, I know we have to put up with those bloody Suzuki adverts but still.......but at the end on the podium Toby Moody says well thats all from the Moto GP in the desert and the race was won by a Camel :lol:

At least itv are opening it to a wider audience. At a prime time aswell.

BSB on Sky is OK if you wanna line Rupe's pockets to the tune of £400 plus a year.

BSB on ITV is a step forward for the Sky "have nots" step backwards for the Sky "haves"

And yes I cannot be doing with Charlie Cox, or the daft Burd off ITV.

I didn't time the first race, but I reckon ITV showed no more than about 8 minutes worth! Cracking coverage or what!
