Classic Dukes - I want one!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone have one of these?? I want to ride one please :D:D:D:D I lurve classic bikes, so happy to ride one if anyone is offering ;) I'd settle for one of these... or even one of these... Fank yooo :D |
|
Yep. Whenever you like. This is my classic ducati 350 racer and if you're interested, this if my vintage velocette 500 racer I'll be racing them both at crmc-Lydden the week after dd-Brands, then at vmcc-Oulton the week after that. Ooh :eureka: - I've got an excuse for riding carefully at Brands now ! [Edited on 9-4-2006 by phil_h] |

Coooooooool :D:D:D:D:D:D I'd love a go on the 350 if that's possible at some point. Are they expensive to buy? A runner preferably? Thanks Phil ;) |
|
Yeah me too please Phil?! That would be cool. What tyres do you run them on? How sticky are they and how do they compare with the diablo's? |
|
I've been threatening to bring the 350 to a dsc trackday but something gets in the way each time - like not being able to go :sniff: However, the offer for anyone to ride it is still open, its just my organisation that stops it happening. The tyres are a bit narrower than you are used to :D but they are proper race rubber, usually with the same compound as last years superbike tyres. I use Avon Venoms, 90/90x18 front and 120/80x18 rear, which are made in wiltshire I believe ! The compound seems quite similar to the diablos actually, which is a good testimony to the diablos. Its the brakes that are the biggest difference ... I'm still trying to come to terms with the dd brakes :D |

DOM my mate races one. |

Cool. Would like to just see one too, I fink they're gorgeous!!! Always liked that style race bikes  |
|
I've got almost enough to make another one Dom, if you're interested. It needs a piston, crank, con-rod, 3rd gear and probably a straight-cut primary drive. :P |

HELP!!! Can someone translate that?:lol: I'd love to Phil, but at the moment I'm skinter than a skint thing that is very skint!!! Hopefully things will be better in a month or 2, and then I may start looking around. I'll rack your brains during the season ;) |
|
nice bikes. Interesting about the tyres though. I used to scrape out sidestands, centrestands and footpegs all through the eighties on small rubber. Back then a 120 was a big deal. My old Z550 had 4.25's on it and never slipped once even under much duress. And yet on modern tyres I've had a few 'moments', Strange. |

Ahhh, has this been a running saga (scuse the pun) I take it you don't think he should sell it Neil? I couldn't afford it if it was £6.43 anyway ;) |

i love the older bikes too i saw at 6 cylinder 350 at cadwell BSB last year and wow the noise it made. you could hear it all the way around the track to see a grid of all of them would be amazing iv riden the older 900ss it was a heavey bike but that just added to it character it had fuel pumps on it so to go fast you had to be real smoth with it i loved it just didnt have the money for one |
|
Dom and Dom If you like the noise ... You really really must make an effort and get to a CRMC meeting sometime. At some of the meetings there are parades with a number of really historic bikes out there. I love it. Hardly a car engine out there. :sing: |

id love to hear the honda 350 six cylinder again drop me an email |

You could always take yourselves over to Mallory on the Sunday after our DD race at Oulton (which is on the Saturday I think????) The VMCC have revived the Festival of 1000 bikes for the weekend, loads of classic race bikes etc plus a wall of death :D about £6 to get in I think, or you can take your classic round for £15 a session. Tempting . . .. |

Honda didn`t make a full 350 6 cylinder machine , it was a 297 that competed in the 350 class. If you want to hear a 350 and 500 6 cylinder machines, MV made prototypes that do the classic scene now and again and both sound incredible. I`ll post a couple of piccys on here of them soon. |
|
By the way I`ve always wanted either a 350 or 450 desmo single, the last ones made with front discs and yellow paint jobs. |

Oh, and if you book at least one track session, you get two entry tickets for the whole weekend for free :D I reckon I'll be doing it, on a 750 Norton cafe racer. |
