Combined Gird???

So where did the post go about the combined grid at Castle Combe:puzzled: I had just put up a reply and was then told I was not allowed to view this post and thrown out and now it's gone.

domski 27-Apr-2006 15:40

That must mean we get 4 races then.

Suits me :P

ChrisBushell 27-Apr-2006 16:12

To ensure that you get 4 races, we will need to have at least 25 entered in each class.

You have been warned!

domski 27-Apr-2006 16:14

How about practice AND qualifying then Chris?

If we have a combined grid, will be racing across 2 days, or just one day?

I don't mind a combined grid, but I can see how the 583 boys may be a bit miffed.

fil2 27-Apr-2006 16:26

there are at least 4 entrants with two bikes who intended to enter both classes at Castle coombe.?

Andy C 27-Apr-2006 16:31

I thought the time table was for seperate grids, 4 races over 2 days.

Jools 27-Apr-2006 16:34

Combined Gird ????

Is this some sort of bizarre Wiltshire ritual...

"Today, down at Castle Coombe in darkest Wiltshire we're going to witness a combined girding of loins"

:P:P:P

You on the beast then?

phil_h 27-Apr-2006 17:51

So where are you guys looking to find out this info ???

domski 27-Apr-2006 17:58

Fil2 spoke to Jim Parker.

We need to get 25 in each class to get our own grids.

That was the idea, bear in mind they can get 46 on the grid at CC !!!

NBs996 27-Apr-2006 18:10

But they've not got our entries in yet guys... surely we'll get at least 25 on each grid for such a high profile meeting?

Me thinks we'd best encourage people to enter.

I don't mind a combined grid, but I can see how the 583 boys may be a bit miffed.

Actually, I think quite a few 620 bods would be miffed if fil2 took his 583 out and trounced them :D

domski 27-Apr-2006 18:38

He doesn't need to take his 583 out.

He's got a beast in his garage now :o

:D

Thats what I was thinking - how can they know ? Won't they have to give us 2 slots if there are more than the stated 46 on the grid ?

Or will we be doing the qualifyer and leftovers again ? :puzzled:

domski 27-Apr-2006 18:55

JP was going on Brands entry figures.

Chris Wood 28-Apr-2006 09:18

now there is a plan....................... ;)

Griff 64 28-Apr-2006 09:21

I would be happy to enter class A on my 583 if it helps to get seperate grids and no one objects re warm tyres blah, blah, blah, blah:)etc

couchcommando 28-Apr-2006 09:26

I'll enter class b on my 620 just to make numbers up, if other 620 riders want to make numbers up we could start at the back of the grid ?

bugger off stick to your own class.

exactly....said in jest im sure but rings true..if some 620 riders are going to enter 583 on a 583 then we may as well battle them on a combined grid.

couchcommando 28-Apr-2006 09:56

That's alright but if we don't have the numbers in our classes we'll all be on one grid anyway.
I guess if we don't have the numbers mixing grids would be our only option to get us 4 races, otherwise we will be put on a mixed grid of 2 races by NE.
It's up to us to get all who signed up for the series out there racing :)

multi600 28-Apr-2006 10:11

Small point I know but no one can enter until we get the paper work from New Era can we:saint: I 'm sure we will make 25 on each grid at such a big meeting.

exactly...................as i understood it, we had at least 30 in each class registered at the start of the year...so 27 in each should be a figure the DD can achieve...!

phoenix n max 28-Apr-2006 10:19

Would all this talk of a combined grid put some people off from entering ?

I can see a difference between one or two 620 riders entering the B class and the full 620 squad :)

But actually I don't care, the more we are, the funnier it will be

Neither do I. 620 racers on 583 ok, but not on 620. Never liked the feeling of being a mobile chicane

dickieducati 28-Apr-2006 10:30

well speed up then.

im going to be a mobile chicane for the likes of phil etc

Scooter916 28-Apr-2006 11:24

I should be entering both classes at castle coombe. The 620 is getting there.
Glyn

Chris Wood 28-Apr-2006 11:58

Simple,

Class A does not meet the capacity rules for Class B.

As a club, surely we can run 583's as required to make up a full grid in Class A, only if required.

Not for points of course! If there are a number of class B runners willing to step up it's good for the DD series.

IMHO

can't be fast with slow people in front of me, I deffo need to learn how to overtake ;)

(how do you call that? mind games? )

TP 28-Apr-2006 12:09

If someone had a 583 I could ride I'd enter the 583 race to bolster the numbers.

I think I can afford that much ...

I started racing in the 583cc class this year I have met a lot of the riders and teams what a fantastic bunch
But as to the organisation of the racing what a shambles
Cadwell we are told before we even get there we are being mixed with other grids and we mite loose
Track time depending on the amount of crashes on the day talked to some other racers in the other classes
They didn’t get told this they got what they paid for.

Brands we are sent out for practice 600-620cc together not what we paid for again at least we got the
Racing in are own classes

Now cadwell we are getting told that we will get combined races oh if the numbers are to low £50 bet we end up
On the same grid

Maybe its time to take are hard earned money somewhere ells !!!!

psychlist 28-Apr-2006 18:58

If time permits I'd be happy to ride my 583 in class A (no points), at least Butch and MW would get a race then :P
