Monoposto race seat unit for 620 SS...

Nobody wants some?

It seems JC (the guy who make them in France) would prefer to send a parcel with 3 to 5 seats as it would make you save on the shipping cost (but then you must collect it at my place in Surrey or wait for the next DD meeting...). Any taker?

Graham?
Ian?
Ali? You will need a spare won't you?

domski 27-Apr-2006 17:43

:lol::lol:

Rattler 27-Apr-2006 19:12

Will this fit a 600SS???

Tonio600 27-Apr-2006 19:14

don't think so, but he's also making carbs SS monoposto seats... :)

Dominic Clegg 27-Apr-2006 19:15

got some pictures

Tonio600 27-Apr-2006 19:16

will try.

Rattler 27-Apr-2006 19:22

I'm gonna need a 600ss full fairing and seat unit - can this guy do both?

I'll start another thread about this.

Tim

Tonio600 27-Apr-2006 19:32

I think that's his job. Making fairings. He was the official dealer for the Ducati France race series a few years ago...

I'm watching you Mr Howard

twpd 27-Apr-2006 19:36

I'm interested Tonio - as long as it's better than the crap Ricambi seat unit and FITS.

Tonio600 27-Apr-2006 19:43

I'll let you know guys, I've asked him some pictures. Ali has already bought a seat unit from him, maybe he can tell you what he thinks about it...

twpd 27-Apr-2006 19:50

In fact I'd have two if they fit properly :)

couchcommando 27-Apr-2006 21:38

Does it use the standard seat ?

TP 27-Apr-2006 21:46

Well, this is the seat unit that was fitted to Ali's bike that I raced on Sunday.

I can say this, the seat is reasonably solid but is already showing cracks. Also, it raises the seat height considerably.

Just some considerations.

Either it does, either it doesn't. He has made different seat units for the SSie. Last season I had one on my bike which is a cover for the standard seat, but I think the other guys are after a real monoposto seat unit...

I've attached a pix of my bike last year.

skidlids 27-Apr-2006 22:03

I would certainly be interested in one for my 750SSie Minitwin if the price is right

couchcommando 27-Apr-2006 22:08

Tonio have you got the one you used last year that covers the standard seat ? I've put the standard seat and tank back on mine but still need the rear bodywork, if you aren't using your old one, want to sell it ?

Scooter916 27-Apr-2006 22:12

Im in tonio......As you know LOL
Couch, Glen greham prolly has it, its now his bike
Glyn

twpd 27-Apr-2006 22:40

Is that Castle Combe Tonio?

twpd 27-Apr-2006 22:41

Good point about the seat height - the bike's are already tall especially if you raise the ride height to quicken the steering.

Don't forget these lovely seats guys

Expensive but nice.

twpd 27-Apr-2006 22:44

I'm after a monoposto because it's gonna be lighter.

Price for a Mono seat unit to fit a carbed 900ss for me please.
Thanks Kev

couchcommando 27-Apr-2006 22:51

I've already got the side panels I need a race seat but want to keep the standard 'comfy' seat ;) ;)

twpd 27-Apr-2006 22:59

OIC. Well Ricambi do a seat cowl that turns it into a mono...bit like this:

Just remove the std panels and grab rail.

yeh that's what I'm after, found it one there web site now, ta for that :)

twpd 27-Apr-2006 23:13

For the benefit of others:

Ricambi mono-seat cover

Whatever you do don't buy the mono 900ssie seat - it's poor.

couchcommando 27-Apr-2006 23:15

Did you just buy on line or contact them direct ?

twpd 27-Apr-2006 23:20

I bought online. No complaints about the service or delivery...delivery was very quick indeed. I can't remember how I paid though - I think it was Paypal.

I've a complete set of Ricambi ssie stuff - it kinda fits but needed lots of cutting and sanding to get it to do so...I suppose that's why it's cheap.

antonye 28-Apr-2006 09:30

If you order from Ricambi-Weiss, go through the shopping cart procedure and order the parts - they don't ask for credit card details or anything like that.

You'll then get an email arrive (so make sure you put the right email address in the form!) which has his PayPal details on so you can pay that way.

Then just pay via PayPal and quote your order number (also on the email) and away you go.

couchcommando 28-Apr-2006 09:32

Cheers antonye, just done it so waitinf for my mail :)
