Question What's blue and you don't want to see it when you're doing 130? |
Big road sign reading "London 147 Miles", means I still have hours before getting back to humanity ..... |

Clue |
Wow ... 3 hoses worn through, that's unlucky ;) |
Why has the second clue been looked at more than the other two?:puzzledand the hose is black......not blue.....! |
Isn't coolant blue? :smug: |
not if its green |
That's very true!! ;) |
The coolant in my bike is in fact blue. Whilst waiting in the queue for the IOM ferry at Liverpool the cooling fans kicked in and chomped through what was remaining of the link pipe between the rear cylinder and the radiator until it was paper thin. This must have been going on since the bike was built. Landed on the IOM to be met by my mate on his bike, dumped all my gear in someone's car at the ferry port and it was straight to the Mountain for a blast (doing the course in reverse). Paper thin wall of pipe gives up, Blue coolant all down the left side of the fairing and on my left boot. Managed to nurse it to my mate's house at Kirk Michael and his neighbour did a temporary fix with a length of fuel hose. (Duplicate posts removed - what's up with the board speed?) So if you have a 999/749 better check the routing of the pipe to see if the left fan is catching it. The leading edge of the fan blade will be worn away as well. [Edited on 1-5-2006 by chrisw] |
