Tried a new ECU tonight - still p****g petrol out so its not that...got a realyl bad feeling im gonna be off the road for ages with this as the dealers are chocka. Gutted. Nat |
natty, could be Injector seat/needle |
Good call Mav certainly sounds like to much fuel is getting by the injector and if its not the ECU holding it open suspect a faulty injector and as Nat has tried another ECU I can't see that its been held open . |
Cheers lads..i'll suggest that.. |
Big up Moto Rapido... Update - good old Steve Hilary @ Moto Rapido has agreed to take her in for a look despite being chocka. Big big thanks to DUK too for agreeing to help out .. Nat |
Update... Well, despite being absolutely chocka..those good old boys at Moto Rapido have sussed the problem..in just a week..!! Busted injector...and unfortunatley you hav eto buy the whole throttle body assembly at about £900 !! :o DUK have kindly agreed to sort it despite the bike just being out of warranty so big thanks to Wilf & Steve @ MR and Andy at DUK for saving the day... Nat |
Thats great news mate ! Well done to DUK as well ! Age |
£900 for an injector????????????????????????????? FARK! :o Well done to DUK doing the honourable thing but £900 is taking the proverbial for a glorified solenoid valve. [Edited on 24-5-2006 by twpd] |
I bet you could buy it as a stand-alone part, just not from DUK! |
One thing is for sure - I'm holding onto my spare injectors. Antoyne is right of course - it's all sourced externally. We just need the automotive equivalent of the RS or Farnell catalogues! |
Speak to my Pit Bitch Mark - he works in the trade so will be able to tell you where to get such equivalents I'm sure. He's probably even got a whole load already laying around the workshop... http://ducatisportingclub.com/xmb/vi...2&pid=288 015 |
Ummm.... GT40's. Has he got a spare frame then? |
No, that was my frame back from the powder coaters. |
1 Attachment(s) If you like GT40s, you should have seen the workshop earlier... |
Tasty! |
Glad to hear you got a good result there, Natty. I had a similar situation a while back when I had a bent valve replaced on my old 750SS when it was six months out of warranty. But, again, with a good dealer to put my case, DUK stumped up for parts and labour in full; fair play to them. |
