Home Soon - Servicing ?! Will be home soon and back on the bike as of June 1st. (Sweet........ !!!) I want to get the bike serviced (5k ish, belts an' all ) and set up correctly. I am in the Stamford/Peterborough area and heard a lot of good reports about Italia Moto - anyone heard different ?! Also Riverside in Northampton - but cant find any recent stuff on them. I will be fitting a new air filter and open clutch cover/new plate as well - should i do this before the service ?? Or wont it make any difference ! Opinions and suggestions appreciated. (hope ur enjoying the BMF !) |
Just seen that this is in the 749 forum ! My mistake - bikes a 748 ! :rolleye: |
i am in cambridge and went up to get it serviced by mark at bsd peterborough, i was pleased. |
BSD - where are they ?! Are they Ducati ?! |
In the past I've always used Italia in Lincoln, very happy with their work and prices they charge. All I would say is get it booked in now .... there is a 4 or more week waiting list for service work. |
4 WEEKS - sh#t - i'll give 'em a call tmrw. Thant can only mean that they offer first class service and prices if so many people are using them ! Anyone know if Riverside (Northampton) are still about ! |

Webbs Yamaha are in Eye village and nowt to do with BSD.BSD are on the other side of the A47.Turn left at the roundabout after Mc D's and then take the second left.BSD are in a unit on the right. |
I think Italia have about a 5 week waiting list,....unless you are not fussy when you take it,..midweek is good
In the past I have "worked from home" :D and gone over to Italia midweek. Hung around while they service the bike. The guys are more than happy to keep you going with coffee and let you around the workshop to watch what they are doing. Loads of free advice along the way. |
I'm sure Stamford will be very pleasant after Iraq! |
Back in town... Moto - you're right - Stamford is much better than Iraq !! Bikes in Italia next week - cant wait - been out a few times but over 4000rpm the bike sounds a little odd (metallic ?!) , not sure if this is just me not getting used to the bike after many months but will feel much better after someone who knows what the're doing has a look. Hope to see some of you soon. Knobby. |
