749s touring wanna tour scotland again on the 749s, but i cant help feeling there might be a few problems. first of all where can i keep my luggae, i dont like riding with a backpack. and the only sports rack i can find is for the standard exhaust system it seems. |
Tank Bag? The DP item is expandable, you can take a fair bit in that. An alternative would be to contact Ventura for advice. I like their luggage rack system but I have a standard exhaust on my 999S. Oops, forgot the link: http://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/ |
i did a bit round europe with the ventura system, and can definately recommend it. Good bit of kit. |
1 Attachment(s) ![]() the ventura rack for the 749s and below is a picture of mine. now what im wondering is if under that carbon fibre cover is the lugs needed. |
1 Attachment(s) nice one lol, but you see im darned again. no where for panniers to rest :( |
1 Attachment(s) Here's the ventura kit on my 999 mono |
ChrisW do you have the termi system on your 999 mono ? |
Wave I recently did a weekend in scotland on the 749R and used a DP tank bag it held just enough for my weekend Friday to Monday. It looks like the 749R is going very soon so the bag will be surplus to requirements If your interested send me a U2U. Regards DaveO |
Wave I think the kit for the mono and biposto are different? I can't remember to be honest, but I think the brackets just attatch at the same point the subframe connects to the main part of the frame. The kit supplies new (longer) bolts for this. That's pretty much all there is to the kit... No connecting to the exhaust... |

No normal exhausts. The mounting of the Ventura system should not be a problem as it attaches where the subframe does and does not use the lugs on the exhausts. |
I'm off to Italy in July. I was thinking of buying an SW Motech Cargobag. Scroll to bottom of the following page:- http://www.motohaus.com/acatalog/SW_...onnection.html Anybody else used one? Any thoughts? |
4 Attachment(s) i was wondering about panniers, but will it cook them. think a small tankbag is a must. i prefer not have anything infront of me or on me. if much prefer to pack out the rear of the bike as much as possible in which case ill get a ventura rack. ill enlighten you with some pics from my last trip to scotland, a true achievement. £150 budget a half wrecked 1988 cbr400 and some borowed touring gear, i set about touring Scotland. and yes, i am swimming in the loch ness, its cold. |
