Hey DOMSKI...Is this ya new Crash Helmet...

As a regular reader of the threads on the site and from a complete outsiders veiw ... I get the impression ya going to need a bigger lid for rest of the year ??
Maybe get this one I see it down at Crescents earlier in the year, and there's almost as many throphies that keep you in the style ya come accustomed to ??

Scottie

reservoircogs 13-Jun-2006 12:52

TP 14-Jun-2006 00:44

Am I the only one who thinks this might cut a bit close to the bone here?

Please forgive me if my understanding is wrong, but isn't Scottie here having a bit more than just a gentle dig at someone he doesn't even know?

Maybe I've lost my sense of humour here a bit but I'm fairly certain that if this happened in a pub there'd be a different reaction ...

I was thinking that aswell but desided not to make an issue but y'r spot on TP.

reservoircogs 14-Jun-2006 08:04

If the cap fits so to speak ...
Not trying to cause offence , didn't read anywhere you leave your sense of humour at the door on the way in to the DSC website ?
Just I've read alot of what Domski writes ..mostly about himself and it's just my "opinion" ??
I've been to several rounds with the family to watch D-D and know alot of the guys out there from selling them either bikes or parts over the years.
Don't know what sort of pubs you go to but most the ones I visit the blokes enjoy some banter.
Still think Domskis quote to me earlier in the year when I posted some pictures from Brands Hatch shows that he's got a sense of humour...when he said "did you get any pictures of me or was I going to fast"
Scottie

Rattler 29-Jun-2006 11:06

If Domski is/was offended shouldn't he say so himself? I understand your motive TP, but by responding, doesn't this potentially make the situation worse?

You looking at my bike? ;)

domski 29-Jun-2006 11:19

I chose to ignore it.

Murray Mint 29-Jun-2006 13:31

Well I thought it was funny.

weeksy2 29-Jun-2006 13:37

i thought both were really funny....

LOL

I very much doubt Dommy got upset... All publicity is good.... he loves the attention.

Murray Mint 29-Jun-2006 13:39

Hope your waiting for the incoming steve.

Tonio600 29-Jun-2006 13:43

Yeah me as well.

I really appreciate Dom and consider him as a friend (as a lot of other DD racers and DSC members), but I can't really see what's wrong with having fun about that picture. Tony you're getting old aren't you?

domski 29-Jun-2006 13:59

OK, seeing as we're going to make a meal of this now...

I think that the first pic was OK, and maybe even funny.

It was the second pic that ****ed me off - I'm not sure at which point I had upset Scott or given him good reason to be such a sarcastic *****, but saying "I love this picture" when it shows me behind Ali - was uncalled for in my opinion.

...but that's just me.

Quote:

If the cap fits so to speak ...

Which means what exactly?

Quote:

Not trying to cause offence

I don't mind mates taking the ****, but when you don't even know somebody...

Quote:

I don't think anyone has.

Quote:

WTF are you talking about then "I've just read" and "It's my opinion"

What would you like me to talk about? When you post something up isn't it about you, or your opinion, or talking from experience? Therefore everyone is posting about themselves, or what they're doing, or what they think.

...and I've backed up EVERYTHING I've said.

Quote:

I've been to several rounds with the family to watch D-D and know alot of the guys out there from selling them either bikes or parts over the years.

Take the **** out of them then. You don't know me and I've given you no reason to have a laugh at my expense. I've always be polite to you on the forum, and complimented your photo's and Runt racer.

Quote:

I don't go to the pub, but I know the difference between banter and an unprovoked personal attack (pic 2 & comments)

I do have a sense of humour, and that comment I made at the time was light hearted and not offensive to anyone was it. Seeing as I had gotten pole and two seconds it was obviously a play on the fact that I was finally showing the speed after struggling last season.

Nobody can deny that everything I have said, I have proven and will continue to prove.

I don't do bull**** and have backed up everything I've said.

If you don't like it, then that's fine, but posting up photo's of me behind someone and saying that you love it, I think, is no longer humour.

I'm not big headed either. If you actually met me before taking the ****, you would know that I'm actually a pretty humble bloke and feel a bit out of place running at the front. We all like a joke, and me more than most I expect. You just overstepped it on this occasion.

I had forgotten all about it to be honest, but as we're all having a good laugh, I thought it would be rude not to explain my thoughts.

weeksy2 29-Jun-2006 14:09

seriously Dom ??? you're getting the **** over the pic ?

Mannnnn i thought better of you than that....

domski 29-Jun-2006 14:10

Maybe I'm being harsh??

Perhaps there's an artistic reason why Scott loves the photo of me behind Ali so much.

I could have read it all wrong, not

keefer 29-Jun-2006 14:28

I didn't think much of the first pic
I found the second funny as f**k
not cuz I know Dom or who he's behind.
it just made me laugh, as it looked funny.
O well back to work

domski 29-Jun-2006 14:32

Can I just point out that the second pic is NOT Scott's pic.

The second pic was done by Kye.

The original photo that went with the "I love this pic" comment, was a normal photo of me behind Ali.

...and that is not 'a joke' - IMO.

Grib 29-Jun-2006 14:56

Have to say, I'm with Dom. It's all a bit below the belt. I don't know Dom brilliantly well, but from the few chats we've had at the race meetings he seems a humble, likeable guy. For somebody that doesn't know him at all to come here and call him big headed just doesn't seem quite right. P*ss taking from mates is fine, just plain rudeness from somebody you don't associate with isn't.

I think we need to discuss this, I never agreed to photos.

kye 29-Jun-2006 15:00

So did my picture upset you or not? All was done in good light hearted humor anyway, sorry if it did?

Now THAT is funny :D

dickieducati 29-Jun-2006 15:04

been away for a bit but glad im back. love the banter on here.

with all due respect to both parties i think its very much a storm in a teacup, anyone that knows dom will know he fluked a couple of decent results, and should scottie fancy having a go out there im sure he would be welcomed by all the racers.

vis a vis: a ducks back and water.

ali 29-Jun-2006 15:07

Should anyone wish to expand on their stock of dom-behind-ali photos I suggest a trip to Oulten Park next weekend where you should have plenty of opportunity to get some new ones.

Not really, coz I know you have a mental age of a brussel sprout ;)

I have no real issue with anyone thinking I'm big headed - coz I'm not, and people that matter to me, also know that I'm not.

I have also proven that I'm not full lof ****, when it comes to racing.

People that I know, or have met (like Kye) have a bit of licence to make a comment or remark and I know whether it's meant in jest or not.

For someone I've never met or spoken to, to just post a normal photo of me racing a motorcycle behind Ali who is racing also motorcycle (that better Ali?) and saying "I love this pic" to me shows that you're trying to do more than just have an innocent joke at someones expense.

What you're saying is, "Look at Domski, isn't he ****, he's behind somebody"

That is out of order. I think.

I think you're probably not too far away from the truth mate :(

Still, it's always nice to ride around behind you in the shade (or in the dry if it's raining)

:D

fil2 29-Jun-2006 15:17

Kye's photo was funny and it still makes me giggle....its cleary a joke in a comedic way and meant as such........................

the other one blatantly infers " im so glad dom is getting beaten" in other words i think he is a *****r...its out of line..we all know how hard it is to get on the grid and race for the best position we can, and to have someone say HAHHAHAHA look at you getting beaten is out of order.......

imho

Phil

Not a good idea! I'd only hit 50mph flat out in 6th, and more than enough of me touches down already without moving more ballast outwards!

Anyway, I won't need to as I have a cunning plan involving the crop-spaying attachment from a tractor and 40L of chip fat.... :ninja:

....that's right, sunbathing!
