Rossi injured!

Well, well...what a year he's having!

Fractures in right wrist and ankle as well as chest contusions and knackered elbow!
Hopefully he'll be fit for the race, seasons starting to really hot up!

The last thing I want is Hayden winning the championship by default of having no main competitors left

Shandy 22-Jun-2006 11:37

Blimey there dropping like flies this year, this will be leaving the door wide open for Hayden

Jools 22-Jun-2006 11:44

Depends on how much of the stuffing Capirossi has had knocked out of him...apparently he's looking forward to Assen, so we should see over the weekend whether he's been shaken or stirred

Redruth 22-Jun-2006 11:47

Oh dear. Still, he's a fit young man. I'm sure he'll bounce back.

What kind of fit are you refering to?

LeeeeeeL 22-Jun-2006 11:52

From a selfish point of view hope there is some of the top riders left for donington

jeff st4s 22-Jun-2006 11:56

Never thought of it like that, we'll all be watching a load of test riders going round and we won't know who to cheer for.

As someone said Hayden will prob win as he wont have to put any effort in and actually race anyone !

LeeeeeeL 22-Jun-2006 12:02

Good old James Ellison.......with Hoffman on the proper Ducati that is one less to finish behind him

June 22 2006 From the MCN site
Rossi is fit to race
Valentino Rossi fans, Yamaha, and the owners of Donington Park breathed a collective sigh of relief a few moments ago when the Italian was given the all-clear to ride later to today and for the rest of the Assen GP following a hospital check-up this morning.

Rossi crashed heavily in practice for the Dutch GP, and was taken to hospital for check-ups after saying he had chest pains and a sore hand.
BBC Radio 1 eagerly reported that he had broken his wrist, but a Dorna spokesman just revealed that Rossi is OK to ride, just bruised and beat up.

And Capirossi is on his way there also feeling bruised and beaten up. You can't hold a good man down.

LeeeeeeL 22-Jun-2006 12:13

Hooray !!

MJS 22-Jun-2006 12:42

Melandri and Capirossi both took part in first practice.. Melandri 7th fastest, quicker than Pedrosa... not bad for someone who was in hospital a day ago!

Back in his leathers and out! Excellent!

Carpirossi is one hard Bar Steward as well!

phillc 22-Jun-2006 13:35

I've been watching the FP2 video on the MotoGP website. When the cameras switch to the pit garages, I must say both Melandri and Capirossi look absolutely fecked. Melandri has a big black eye. Both of them have that "I'm not quite here and I'm really tired" gaze. Hope they're not pushing it too hard.
