Back Protectors - Recommendations As the title says, I'm looking for recommendations for good back protectors. I thought the members here might be able to make some good suggestions regarding excellent products. My one piece leathers currently fit very nicely thankyou. So, I'd rather something that was "slimline", while still offering a high level of protection, although I expect to pay more for such an item. Thoughts? |

Knox. |
Hello phillc, I bought a Knox back protector, but not sure if practical for a one piece leathers, Infinity motorcycles at St.Margarets roundabout stock them. Worth going in and getting them to measure your back, as they all come in different sizes. I found the Knox to be very comfortable and I think they are priced at around £80-90. Good luck. TopiToo |
Knox 2000 - the longer race version as opposed to the touring one, as it protects the base of the spine. Top piece of kit. |

    ...but OK with shorts and T-shirt? |
Thanks for the responses everyone! I should have been clearer in my initial post, but I guess I was looking for a more specific answer than just "Knox". :-) I'll head into my local bikestore, wearing my leathers, and ask them to try on a Knox 2000. Thanks again! |

They don't do the one that I use anymore, but it's very very good and it's been tested. I think it was about £80. I guess, like with everything, you get what you pay for. Knox are recognised at the best brand (like Arai etc) so I don't think you'd buy a 'bad' one. That new £99 slimline one looks great for racing, but even better if you can go and try one. A must for racing though ;) |
Just gone throught the same exercise myself. As you probably have, I've done quite of bit web searching and asking around. Know was mentioned lots as in the above posts. However, in the end, I opted for the Forcefield T-Pro, not least because some racers I spoke to have recently switched from Knox to this one, and when I checked with Hideout leathers, who sell both, they also recommended the T-Pro. The make a race version which protects your tail-bone (as do Knox). It is more pliable and fit easier under leathers (at least in my case). I was pretty impressed and have also used Knox in the past. IMO, either one will do the job. Best advice, try them both. |
Thanks Felix! Just been to the Forcefield website - http://www.forcefieldbodyarmour.co.uk/ Looks like Infinity stocks this brand as well. So I'll be able to compare and contrast. |

I use a Knox also when I use the 2 piece, but use the Dianese one I got with my one piece when i wear that. Reason being I cant get the Knox on underneath the one piece. But Domski's suggestion of trying one on before you buy is a good idea, see what fits under your gear and is comfortable |

I've been looking for one of these for a while, but not found one. I know that TP bought the longer version (2000?) at the Ally Pally show, but I've not seen them advertised anywhere. Tim |

How's that transponder you said you'd lend me coming along? Got the number handy? You were busy working yesterday (sheesh) when I wanted to talk about stuff. And of course it's always best to get a wider range of opinions! Plus who wants to wear your smelly old clothes. :-P |

you are a moody git - what's happened, been working ?????? ;) |
Knox do quite a few different ones now, £80-100 or £69.99 for small man or lady, even tho stowaway one is good, the ricochet is quite flat and very comfy and moulds to your back, as everyone says all very comfy those ones. Definately try before you buy with your suit though. |
