Pilot powers what pressures u running On my S4r running 120/70 17 and 180/55 17. and 32 psi front and 36 psi rear. I had a 180/55 17 on my hornet different brand and was running 42 psi in rear then. Michelin website recommndeds 2.1 bar and 2.3 bar, not sure what that is in psi! Are my pressures to soft? not sure where i got them from now! Cheers Lee |
just had powers fitted to my 999 and the pressures reccomended are lower than other makes. Think it was 30/32 |
|
Or another way bar x 14.503861 = Psi |

Somebody call? arrrrrrrrrgh! Michelins  32/36 seems about right for most Dukes although most manufacturers do recommend up to 42 in the rear  |

Doh!! had to read that twice before i twigged ;) hows life with Der management |
I run 32/34 on the street with great results and wear. Never had a slip and got 8,200 miles on my last set. |
Hhhhmmm seems my pressures are ok, just on way home from work today felt like the back was almost sliding or shifting on the tyre deflecting, or might have been just the dry roads with dust/diesel etc! I also noticed a slight squaring off after only 3000 miles, i do mainly round town lots of stop/starting and i think the torque of the 996 flattens out the profile so maybe thats what im feeling when leaning over. Thanks for the conversion thingy! Lee |

8,200 miles? My 999S has only covered 5,600 and Ive just fitted my 3rd rear tyre and 2nd front. Quote:
Hmm,..that will be the squared off tyres from Raid the lakes then! |

Nope!!! 8,200 miles is correct. I would have squeezed out maybe another 5-800 if I really wanted but needed tires for the track. They were just down even to the wear bars, but the center was squared off. Far from any threads showing though. |
1 Attachment(s) Well i have left them at 32/36 to go to the gp tommorow seems best as they have been at those pressures always, think maybe its just the rear starting to square off see pic! You can see the thin black talked about in previous threads in the past for static or somthing , lol I never got 8200 miles out of the rear on my 600 hornet! |
Without starting another tyre pressure thread...what are you guys running with Diablo Corsas? I tried 33F 35R and it felt pretty good, might try a bit lower though, see how I get on...? |
I am on diable corsa's and running 2.1 front and 2.2 back. Khu how is the "R" going |
I'm on Diablo Corsas front and back. Run 32F and 35R. Get about 4000 miles out of a rear tyre and about double that on the front. |
Pilot Powers on the ST3S, 36psi front & rear Corsas on the 996, 33 psi front, 35 psi rear. |

Hia Mark, Half way to running the R in, clocked up about 230 miles now! But Ive been caning it to the limit already, and its fantastic. We'll have to go out for a run before the decent weather disappears. |
At just over 3500 after going to Donny, I guess my rear is quite worn and squared off which is why it feels like im falling off when leaning over lol Hmmm these tyres dont last long on 996cc vtwins!!! Cheers Lee |
Dropped just a touch today, it was really hot! 32F and 34R, felt great. Think thats what I'll stick with. |
