CLASS A and B in 2007

I propose that Neither of the Class winners run the No1 plate in 2007......

it's elititst and creates racing social classes....!...

" Vote no number 1's next year "

weeksy2 13-Jul-2006 09:01

Why can't both run it ?

Surely if you have different coloured boards, they know you're 2 seperate classes ?

Chaz 13-Jul-2006 09:27

If you have it flaunt it.

Well they can obviously ...derr....im suggestng and forming a groundswell of support to ensure the class winners DONT run the number 1 plate..as i feel it's not in keeeping with the ethos behind the DD.....and suggests levels of elitism not wanted in DD.....................

Phil

NO2

weeksy2 13-Jul-2006 10:25

I'm a little confused... Not in keeping with the Ethos of DD, surely the Ethos of DD is that it's a Race series... with championship points, and therefore a Series Winner ?

There's no elitism in holding #1 plate... it's a right of passage....

If there was a #1 plate in Class A, but not allowed in Class B (because the class A guy is running it) then i could see it as that....

But i'm afraid i miss your point on this one.

TP 13-Jul-2006 10:34

To the victor go the spoils IMO

I think if the winner wants to run the number 1 plate then that is their right. It's up to them.

Rattler 13-Jul-2006 10:35

;) ;)

andys 900ss 13-Jul-2006 10:52

You race to win? and, to win, you choose to race?

I'm with TP, sorry.

I know exactly where your coming from and I dont think anyone will respect anyone any less no matter what number they run, if anything, the guys at the front are the ones to look up to and ask for help.

Andy

Tonio600 13-Jul-2006 11:12

I think class winner should be allowed to choose #1... that's fair enough...

I think everyone should run #1's, just to confuse things :D

Why not, Antonye does! He thinks he's a bloody 3 times world champ or something! ;)

NBs996 13-Jul-2006 14:24

Actually, I think there's a good point here...

I'm going to be feeling a bit dejected after dropping (or is that 'plummeting'?) down the points table over the next 3 rounds.
I say there should be no championship points at all, it suggests the rider at the top is better than the rider at the bottom.

Also, with the exeption of Brands Hatch, imagine how inadequate most of us feel at the presentation.
Therefore, I reccommend there should be no trophies. Otherwise, everyone should get a trophy.

couchcommando 13-Jul-2006 14:27

I think the winners should have an extra large No.1 on their bikes, in fact I suggest that the people finishing behind them should have loser 1, loser 2, loser 3 etc as their numbers for next year to encourage them to ride harder, ride better, ride faster, take more chances, do more rounds..delete as appropriate :)

You da man GTH ;)

Tonio600 13-Jul-2006 15:07

But then, we were saying a few topics ago that all bikes should carry different numbers even if they're not running in the same class, so what class winner will get the #1 next year?

I think we should better make a raffle. At least that's more fair.

paynep 13-Jul-2006 15:16

I think that if by any incredibly remote chance that both Class A and Class B champions are racing in the same class next year, then for the sake of fairness to the rest of us they should both be on one bike.
With two races a meeting they both get to be pillion in one race each and so can be rewarded for their efforts this year.

Is this because you'r moving up to classA & won't be able to run No1 assuming you win classB which I think you proberbly have already.

Fil2, Andy #99, PaulP, Kev, ChrisW, Murray, DomClegg, Senna3, MarkFoskett, KevinMooney, Griff, Bones ;) etc... might get abducted by aliens so some of us slow losers haven't given up yet......

Just assuming they need a large panel for their experiments..... So I still can win the Scooter, why do you think I keep the stickers on my bike???

(just kidding Glen, I would keep them anyway even without the aliens :D )

How do you know that I wasn't referring to Phils Harris or Clarke?

You know that I don't even consider myself in the same race as you.....
