Anyone selling their 620 DD bike at the end of season?

I have a friend who is interested in doing DD next year, so wondered if any of you 620 riders are selling up at the end of the season?

I think a 620 Sport would be better as he's the same size as Ali :o and a bit old, so he needs a nice comfortable tourer

antonye 14-Jul-2006 17:11

You not selling your 695 then Dom?

fil2 14-Jul-2006 17:11

You promised you wouldn't tell anyone about 'our' little secret :o

rich-racing.co.uk 21-Jul-2006 15:49

on the original subject - can anyone tell me if there's more leg room on a ss bike than a monster? my legs are knackered.....
yours sincerely,
Dom's old mate.....
(no more wise cracks fella - my ribs won't take it):sniff:

ali 21-Jul-2006 16:05

There's definitely more room on an SS. I rode several monsters last year and they were all quite a bit more cramped. Having said that I still can't feel my feet at the end of a race!

I'd go for an SS and splash out on some adjustable clipons/rearsets if possible.

The price you pay for the extra space is slower steering (ss?? coincidence???) , something I still haven't ironed out on the SS. Even flat out over the crest after druids didn't generate anything more than a slight shake of the head. Great for high-speed circuits, but a pain in chicanes..... :o

Cheers,

ali

paynep 21-Jul-2006 16:52

Definitley agree with Ali, even though I'm a foot shorter and 5 seconds a lap slower.
By the time you've put clip ons and rearsets on a Monster you have to be some sort of freak to ride it fast..........

(Goes back to pub)

rich-racing.co.uk 21-Jul-2006 17:02

thanks for the help fellas - will keep 'em peeled for a ss!

Rattler 21-Jul-2006 17:09

It is interesting that the Monsters seem to be showing more at the front of late.

I'd heard that the geometry of the SS lent itself much more to racing (no great surprise) and that the Monster was more of a cow.

No doubt Dumski will produce us a spreadsheet/html/xml table that'll provide all the stats/feedback/analysis and bs that we never wanted. ;)

Tim

domski 21-Jul-2006 17:24

How rude! :frog:

Everyone knows that the SS's are much faster

I think we'd all be near as dammit as quick regardless of bike, it's just a matter of comfort, especially as NE want to amalgamate all next years meets into one 84 lap race of all the uk circuits in one day......

It's for the benefit of all I tell ya!
